Matt Webster will be our guide through the German beers from Weihenstephan in Bavaria. Their claim to be the world’s oldest brewery traces back to their roots at the abbey in 768 when a hop garden in the area paid a tithe to the monastery. A brewery was licensed on the site in 1040. Beeradvocate rates these beers from A+ to A-! We’ll be tasting the Heffeweissbier, Heffeweissbier Dunkel, Kristallweissbier, Vitus, Original Premium, and Korbinian. According to our distributor, the Festbier will be available this autumn for the Weihenstephaner aficionados.
