Join us at ChurchKey Monday, September 26 beginning at 6 PM as we offer a new take on the traditional Southern Bavarian Oktoberfest. We will be featuring 9 different rare and delicious unfiltered and unpasteurized German lagers from a slew of small breweries located in Franconia, Germany - all dispensed on the bar from gravity-poured kegs. This is the traditional Anstich, or tapping, that accompanies the celebration, called Sandkerwa, of the Elisabethian Church at the end of every August in the old part of Bamberg ("Sand"). Bamberg is a town in Franconia, which is located in Upper Bavaria, so we feel like this is a cool way to demonstrate the confluence of two separate Bavarian cultures, and to demonstrate that beer-centric autumnal celebrations are not limited to the more famous Oktoberfest!
