Based on the popularity of the CASK CORNER at The Fourth Annual Big Tap In Boardman, Ohio – we were inspired to host another event in 2013 focused on FIRKINS! When we found ourselves brainstorming about the details of the event, it made sense to combine great cask beer with the spirit of the Oktoberfest and fall harvest season! As September 21 is the first day of Oktoberfest in Munich Germany, this day seemed to be the perfect day to host Boardman, Ohio’s octoBREWfest! As September 21, 2013 is the official last day of summer, we will need to not only celebrate Oktoberfest, we need to celebrate FALL! So, the creative minds behind octoBREWfest 2013 decided to coin the event a FIRKIN, FRANKFURTERS, FARMER’S FOOD and FALL SEASONALS! The event will be INDOORS at the Shepherd Event Center in Boardman, Ohio on Saturday, September 21, 2013. This event benefits Making Kids Count, a non-profit local 501(c)(3) that makes the lives of children in our valley a little brighter.

Hmmm…so what can you expect with your octoBREWfest 2013 ticket?

1. Firkins – many firkins (we will keep a ticker on the website so that you will know how many we secure as we get commitment from breweries)
2. Frankfurters – we will have a variety of frankfurters for you tasting pleasure at octoBREWfest 2013 – including organic!
3. Farmer’s Food – Fall harvest will be in full swing during octoBREWfest 2013. At this unique event, you will be sampling locally sourced fall harvest foods. Our primary food vendor for this event will be Youngstown based event company, The Sprouted Table!
4. Fall Seasonals – You can plan to taste some German, harvest and PUMPKIN beers as well. Yes, we said PUMPKIN!

As far as the entertainment, we promise a great experience. From polka music to a stein hoist competition, octoBREWfest 2013 will have more than just great beer! And, just like The Big Tap In, octoBREWfest will be more than just an event; it will be an experience and a memory that will last with you for quite awhile!
