The Exclusive Debut of Bluejacket & Maine Beer Company “Collaboration Time II” on Draft!

As we get closer and closer to the opening of our very own Bluejacket down by Nats stadium in the Navy Yard, our brewery’s collaborative zeal shows no sign of slowing down…

Beer Director Greg Engert and Brewmaster Megan Parisi have long been friends with, and huge fans of, Maine Beer Company, and the idea to do a brew together has been in the works for almost a full year. Obviously, Daniel and David Kleban—the masterminds behind Maine Beer—had their hands full meeting the rapidly growing demand for their products; so much so, in fact, that they recently completed a substantial expansion into a brand-new facility in Freeport, Maine. And once the move and expansion were finished, Greg, Megan and the Kleban brothers commenced crafting the first of what will undoubtedly be many collaboration brews to come!

What resulted is Collaboration Time II, a bone-dry American Saison brewed entirely with organic Pilsner malt and Red Wheat malt from Valley Malt in Hadley, Massachusetts. This ale has been copiously hopped with both Czech-grown Saaz hops and Ahtanum hops sourced from the Pacific Northwest, and fermented with Maine Beer Company’s house neutral Ale yeast as well as their house Saison strain. This was the 2nd collaboration brew crafted by Maine Beer (the 1st being Collaboration Time I brewed in congress with Lawson’s Finest Liquids from Vermont), and the 19th Bluejacket collaboration to date!

We are ecstatic with the outcome, and cannot wait to share one of our very favorite Bluejacket collaborations thus far! Collaboration Time II will be tapped at ChurchKey right when we open at noon on Saturday, July 13th and will be flowing all day and night!

There is no admission fee for this tapping, and Collaboration Time II will be priced by the glass and in 4 Oz. tasting pours.
