Each March, FiftyFifty Brewing Co. brews small 300 gallon batches of Eclipse, an Imperial Stout designed to age in whiskey barrels. When the beer is done fermenting it is put in a variety of highly sought after whiskey barrels and allowed to age for a minimum of 6 months. In December when the beer has extracted the unique flavors of whiskey and oak from each barrel, a very small and highly allocated amount is bottled and released. Up to ten different barrel-aged varities are released, each variety coming from a different whiskey or spirit barrel.

We were privileged enough to receive many different varieties of the highly sought after FiftyFifty Eclipse over the last two years and held on to them for an epic whiskey and beer tasting. On Sunday, February 9th, Tim Prendergast, our Cellarman and Certified Cicerone® will guide guests through a private tasting that explores the relationship between whiskey, beer, and barrel-aging.

We will be pouring 6 different versions of Eclipse from the 2012 and 2013 vintages alongside the whiskey that the Eclipse barrel previously held. This is a great opportunity for beer and whiskey afficionados alike to sample highly sought after rare beers alongside a stellar lineup of whiskeys.
