History & Hops at the Heurich House Museum continues on Thursday, July 17 when we feature Devils Backbone!
Started in 2008, Devils Backbone from Roseland, Virginia, has quickly established itself as both a local favorite and as one of the a preeminent craft breweries in the United States.
Devils Backbone has earned medals at the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival (GABF), among other prestigious beer competitions. Notably, Devils Backbone won the GABF’s 2012 Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year and the 2013 Small Brewing Company and Small Brewing Company Brewer of the Year.
Devil’s Backbone will be sampling:
1. Vienna Lager (Gold Medal Winner at the 2012 World Beer Cup)
2. Turbo Cougar Blonde Bock (Soon to be Released)
3. a Cask of their 8 Point IPA dry hopped with Citra and Centennial hops and aged on lemon peel
History & Hops is a monthly series at the Heurich House Museum, the former Dupont Circle home of D.C.’s most successful brewer Christian Heurich. Every third Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30pm, the museum partners with a local craft brewery for house tours and beer tastings.
Guided tours through Heurich’s well-preserved Victorian mansion will discuss his brewery and the D.C. region’s rich brewing history. All proceeds will benefit the preservation and growth of the Heurich House Museum. Guests must be 21+.
