Hop heads get ready! The inaugural Ale Harvest Fest, scheduled for Saturday, October 11th from 1:00-5:00 PM in Westmont’s Ty Warner Park, will feature over 80 unique beers from 40 brewers across the country with an emphasis on the hop harvest and autumn seasonal beers. The fest will also include casks, infused beers, Pro-Am Brew beers, and other attractions. Local restaurants, food trucks, and live entertainment will be available.

Organizers Lou Dog Events and Beer Dogging are also excited to announce that the fest will also feature the championship round of the Illinois Professional-Amateur Brew Competition. Contestants of the competition submitted their home brewed beers back in July and two finalists were chosen. The homebrew portion of the competition was coordinated and judged by “Beer for Dummies” author and expert Marty Nachel. The chosen finalists have been teamed up with Urban Legend Brewing of Westmont and Flesk Brewing of Lombard to compete for the Illinois Pro-Amateur Brew Championship. Ale Harvest Fest attendees will be able to sample these beers and vote for their favorite. The winning beer will have the opportunity to bottle and sell their beer in local restaurants and stores.
