South Street Brewery, long a mainstay of the craft beer scene in Charlottesville, is launching in Northern Virginia next week at Rustico Ballston!

Just last year, South Street was acquired by another local mainstay, Blue Mountain Brewery, which was itself founded by two South Street Brewery alums. One of these alums, Taylor Smack, will be in the house for the event to talk about his unique brewing homecoming, and raise a glass with our crew and our guests.

And, for the event, the South Street team has sent us some year-round offerings coupled with a number of deliciously rare treats! We’re pouring Slippery When Wit, a hybrid beer combining the beautiful elements of a Belgian Wit and German Gose, Tongue Ninja, a lactobacillus-laced, tart Imperial IPA, as well as Anastasia’s Chocolate Fantasy, an Imperial Stout brewed with Guatemalan Cacao Nibs. We also secured a scarecely-seen cask of Sanuk Saison, a Farmhouse Ale crafted with lemongrass, lime leaves, black pepper, tamarind, palm sugar, and coriander, then dry-hopped in the cask with whole cone Willamette hops!
