The Division Ale House showcases El Hefe Loco, a German-Style Hefeweizen, and Chicago Common, a “Steam Style” beer brewed with Whole Glacier hops at this event; both beers are not widely available outside of the Chicago brewery’s tap room and brewbrub. Other featured draft beers include Citra-Hero, a Hero Series specialty India Pale Ale (IPA), and Anti-Hero, the brewery’s popular year-round IPA. Three canned beers will also be featured, including the seasonally-available Rosa Hibiscus Ale and year-round brews Bottom Up Wit and Eugene Porter.

Executive chef Wally Rouse augments the daily deals with beer-spiked food specials such as Citra-Hero-Braised Pulled Pork Sliders with grilled pineapple and fire-roasted jalapenos and a Housemade Sriracha Chicken Brat with Anti-Hero blue cheese sauce and haystack bacon.

Revolution Brewing’s Amelia Hoormann will be on-hand for beer education and the brewery gives away free wearables and other logoed gear. The beer night begins at 7 p.m. and there is no cover charge to attend. Food and drink are on consumption; beers range from $5-$7 each and food specials range from $6-$9 each. The Division Ale House is open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. on August 20.

Beer Information and Tasting Notes

Citra-Hero, Hero Series, 7.5% (Draft)
American-Style India Pale Ale brewed and dry-hopped with the Citra hop. Clean and crisp with aromas and flavors of fresh fruit and citrus.

Chicago Common, Limited Release, 5.4% ABV (Draft)
Brewed in the "Steam Beer" tradition; brewers use a lager yeast strain fermented at warmer temperatures to bring out more fruity esters. Whole Glacier hops provide the floral hop aroma and medium-bitter hop finish.

El Hefe Loco, Limited Release, 5.0% ABV (Draft)
Traditional German-style Hefeweizen brewed with a Weihenstephan yeast strain. Smooth and effervescent with aromas and flavors of banana, clove and lemon zest.

Anti-Hero, Year-Round. 6.5% ABV (Draft)
This India Pale Ale is brewed with a blend of four hop varieties which provide big floral and citrus aromas and a crisp bitterness.

Rosa Hibiscus Ale, Seasonal, 5.8% ABV (Can)
Steeped with hibiscus flowers, which impart a slight pink hue and natural tartness.

Bottom Up Wit, Year-Round, ABV 5% (Can)
Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with pilsner and wheat malts, freshly-ground coriander, Curacao orange peel, and a special Wit yeast strain. Crisp and smooth with aromas of orange and citrus.

Eugene Porter, Year-Round, 6.8% ABV (Can)
Big porter with a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt gives the beer its deep black color and distinct chocolate essence.
