“Day of the Dead Pigs” w/ Flying Dog & Surly Brewing

Details

If life is truly all about connections, we’ve made good ones. Holly Manthei worked at Flying Dog for over three years before returning to her native Minnesota for Surly. Flying Dog just happens to be one of our favorite local breweries. When Nate Eckert of Flying Dog reached out with an opportunity for a Surly/Flying Dog event, we couldn’t say yes fast enough.

It also happens that we share a mutual love for beer and pork. Expect many smoked pig part specials and beer pairings from Chef Logan McGear and Beverage Director Jace Gonnerman.

The line-up will feature a slew of rarities from both breweries, to include:

Surly Darkness 2012 – An aged vintage of Surly’s iconic Russian Imperial Stout

Surly Pentagram – A dark, 100% Brettanomyces-fermented beer with notes of sour cherry, tobacco, and oak

Surly Todd The Axe Man – A highly sought-after West Coast-style IPA loaded with Mosaic and Citra hops

Flying Dog Berliner Weiss – Newly released brewhouse rarity based on the classic, sour German wheat beer

Flying Dog Barrel-Aged Gonzo: Flying Dog’s Gonzo Imperial Porter aged in oak whiskey barrels

Flying Dog Rum Barrel-Aged Gonzo: A highly limited version of Barrel-Aged Gonzo aged in rum barrels
