Haha, yeah. The deal still needs to be approved by regulatory agents and that could take a while.

I got an idea. Ill start cellaring the upcoming years of BCS and nightstalker and we will have a vert in say....2015. Then we can actually get to taste and experience the declining quality year by year. i can see it now

2011 - tasty
2012 - good its kinda thin in body
2013 - they barrel aged this?
2014 - i dont remember BCS being slightly transparent
2015 - well this isnt as good as they make it out to be in the commercials

Gonna be great. So excites.

For there to be more BCS so A-B can make commercials for it. There will have to be more bourbon barrels. A-B would have to pump money into Heaven Hill so they can expend and make more bourbon. That would mean a glut of bourbon on the market, and a subsequent lowering of prices. I’m starting to see this as a win-win!

It will be interesting to see if AB does indeed let Goose manage the company.

I couldn’t get that to work, let’s give it a second try.

You can bet InBev will raise prices. Can we exect $9-$10 sixers as we see with most of the swill (Heineken, Stella, Corona) they produce? At least that, more I’d guess.

I’m still a little bit confused as to why AB-InBev felt the need to buy out Goose Island and get BCS when they already produce a bourbon barrel aged beer: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/michelob-winters-bourbon-cask-ale/54136/

6ers of GI are already $10... since when has AB been known for high prices? In grocery stores here, Bud is located in the economy section, and In-bev imports are definitely not the priciest options.

I’m still surprised by the relatively small amount that was reported and would be curious if others have more info (with this deal or others similar) that would help makes sense of it all. Goose was only worth $38mil? An expansion for under 2mil? Just seems really low to me.
