I know most people don’t follow Lake Effect to aggressively, but I wanted to note the following from some emails I got and events coming up.

They are in the process of releasing an All Brett IPA called Houblonee this week.

Additionally, they’ll be having an Anniversary Party @ Fischman’s (2nd) on November 6th which will be used as a sneak peek of their barrel program, something they are pretty excited about / sounds like they’ll be growing rapidly.

Including many blonde ales (Cerise de Michigan, Vielle Blond, Vielle Blond Avec Frambois, etc.. assuming these are base Bretted beers like they currently bottle) aged in Merlot barrels with different fruits, a Kentucky Common they’ll be submitting to FoBAB for the RepliBarrel Project and apparently several more.

Additionally, I guess I’ll be part of a small group previewing their Berliner program tomorrow. We’ll be sampling a base, hoppy, and some fruited versions of said Berliner they are hoping to develop and eventually market.

Either way, I know it’s certainly a brewery that flies a bit under the radar.. but it really seems like they’ve got a lot coming up quickly and it’s certainly piqued my interests.

5 Rabbit / CCB Collab being released at the brewery on Saturday.

Lake Effect Berliners were pretty solid, lots of potential. Really dug the Hallertau Blanc hopped one.

the Barrel Aged version of 4th Year Beer was this week’s Revolution tapping.

Yeah, it’s a distinct entry made with another fortified wine I had never heard of.

I’ll fix the entries at some point this weekend to indicate as such.

Thanks Adam, can you add a note to the Bourbon Conquistador that it’s the 2012 red wax and prior draft version, maybe retire it since it hasnt been seen since 2012.

Portland OR brewery Gigantic has applied for a self-distribution brewers license for all of Cook County in IL. What’s up with that? Not happy with their distributor?
