I arrived late but thoroughly enjoyed toasting unprecedented British Athletics Olympic success with some interesting beers, in excellent company. Many thanks to Ruth and Chris for hosting one of London 2012’s finest hospitality events.

Thanks to everyone for coming

Just for those with rather hard to decipher notes, here’s a full list of the beers consumed.

Indeed! Big thanks to Chris and Ruth for allowing us once more to descend horde like on their house and leave them with a shitload of bottle recycling! Big thanks to Chris for the spreadsheet as well. I know I am going to be referring to that. Beer No 78 was what now?

I had a great time, and many thanks to Chris and Ruth! And while I didn’t top my personal best set last year (133) in absolute terms, in relative terms I’m fairly happy with the outcome. We didn’t even do 133 on the day, and about 20+ beers I’d already had; so, my final tally of appx. 105 translated to probably about 98% of the day’s beers. If I had to guess, I probably only made it through 90% or so last year. So, as I said, in relative terms it was a big success.

I have to say that I was ready to call it quits around the 80 mark, but Mo’s performance in the 10,000m spurred me onwards (to say nothing of Ennis and that other guy). I’m pretty optimistic as we head into this week’s main event: GBBF.
