So I received a bottle of old Numbskull as an extra in trade yesterday. When I went to put it away next to my bottle I purchased in SD last year I noted the label was different and the foil a different color. Upon further inspection I could not find a date stamp like on my bottle of Speedway. Just trying to figure out the vintage of the newly arrived bottle. |

Pretty sure the one on bottom (purple label) is the fresher one. Can’t help you regarding the actual bottle date, but I’ve got a bottle from May of last year stashed, and that’s what it looks like. Haven’t seen any silver foils since Alesmith made it to Wisconsin. |
Yeah I figured the blurple foil and skull was newer as its the one I bought last year. Just tyring to figure out about when it was they change foil and labels. |
AFAIK the silver foil has been around on those bottles for ages, don’t think you can use that to determine vintage. |
You should join match.com rather than trying to date beer... |
I dated an old numbskull once....she was too high maintenance for me. |
Take it out to dinner and don’t try opening it up too early |
On earlier vintages (2003-2006), there was a way to tell based on the shading of the anvil and/or lettering. I dont remember exactly. Cquiroga would know, assuming he still remembers |
Anyone remember the green bottles? I gave up on this beer for years because it was always skunked when I’d open it. |
that title is just all sorts of fun! |
