Half Acre at O’Hare?

Message KyotoLefty P beers 15093 º places 1059 º 14:48 Thu 9/8/2016 I read an old post somewhere saying that you can get Half Acre from self service machines at O’Hare airport. Does anyone know anything about this? No interest in drinking GI regulars at airport prices.
Message TheAlum beers 7164 º places 10 º 15:26 Thu 9/8/2016 I’m not sure about Half Acre options.. OHare strangely enough has always had a pretty bad beer selection compared to other major airports. But The Publican just opened a new location @ O’Hare within the last 5-6 weeks (Terminal 3) called Publican Tavern that should have a bunch of neat beer options. That would be your best option for beer should you be able to get there. Web presence/site/menus are lacking currently but I do know the food menu is a lighter menu of their staple Publican offerings. You may also be able to find Tocayo @ any of the Tortas Frontera locations. Don’t think his brewpub offerings (Cruz Blanca) are available at the airport locations in Terminals 1, 3, and 5.

"lots of craft" is a bit of an exaggeration. As far as draft, I really only saw Lagunitas IPA & Rev Anti-Hero last weekend. The problem with Chicago airports is the way that contracts work overall for both facilities. They’re run through the city for management, which is then contracted to the crappiest vendor. At least they are improving they’re options some, but until some other political changes happen, therer will always be restrictions at both airports. On the plus side, you can take your beer wherever you want to in Midway now. Well, once you’re through security...
