Still debating about if this worth going to, even though my family wants to. They just announced that they sold twice as many tickets as last year so that is a tad bit worrying. Also not really many "sexy" beers. Whats the KC Ratebeer’s thoughts? Is it just a good way to waste a Saturday or only a way to waste $33?

I just have never thought of KC Beerfest as a place for beer geeks, due to the beers offered. Definitely seems more like a "convert the heathen masses" type event.

Agreed. Went the first year it was at Legends and won’t ever go back in it’s current format. Overall pedestrian beer selections and way, way, way too many drunks.

I share Eric and Joel’s thoughts. But hey, if the family wants to go - I am sure it will be a fun day out.

I’m with you all, trying to talk everyone out of this one is somehow proving difficult. (they loved the other 2 we went to)Maybe I will be lucky and the Tallgrass Firkin will be something nice. Thanks everyone!

I will let you guys know that the firkin we are doing is "Real Ale". A cask version of Ale.
