New breweries

Does anybody know if these have opened yet? I am pretty sure that the meadery in Canton is now brewing. Other than that and Portside I’ve heard nothing from the rest.

Granite City is open in Beachwood. I have not been there but read some press when they opened. According to a FB page, Franklin Brewing is open and selling beer. As to where to find it and if it is any good, I have no clue.

It also looks like Little Mountain has relocated from Kirtland to Mentor. Anybody been over to give it a chance? My guess is the beers are still middling to slightly below average but maybe a change of scenery improved the quality.

Granite City is not a brewery IMO. They don’t have a brew kettle. They ship in wort that is produced in Iowa then ferment on site. No brewing = not a brewery.

Meniru is brewing now (just not very well). Their mead on the other hand is pretty damn good. I think they are doing a lot better job with mead than Crafted (although Kent did a really nice job with Pollinator).

Brew Mentor is open. It is a homebrew store with a little bar that serves their own beer. It is next to Melt in Mentor. I spoke with someone there who told me he won’t make any Belgians because he doesn’t like Belgian beer. So I kinda lost interest.
