A long read but very interesting. Also, I’ve seen reviews where they actually test the temps and the spiegelau glasses warm slower over time due to their use of thinner glass... Sounds strange but I guess that’s how thermodynamics work.

I can’t argue with a test I guess... but a thinner glass made out of the same material will guaranteed warm the beer faster than a thicker glass (I studied heat transfer at university). It would have to be the coefficient of conductive heat transfer between the materials. Perhaps the Spiegelau glass is made out of a material that is a very poor conductor... although I would think most ceramics would be comparable. Idk.

Sierra nevada and dogfish head had already put that glass out.

Riedels are fantastic glasses, but too delicate and pricey for me. Nothing like spending $100/stem and having the stem break due to the fineness.

Stick to the Spiegelau range (same company?) as they are cost effective and durable. I use the Cantina Bordeaux glass for everything. Functional, good looking, and almost large enough for a bomber.
