I’m assuming it’s just macro hating. I don’t think witbiers have the same geographic restrictions that lambics have.

Isn’t brewed with unmalted wheat or a Belgian yeast strain, which most brewers would consider core elements of the style. Taste it side-by-side with Hoegaarden even (another macro by any standards) and it’s not even close--it tastes like spiced orange juice.
