Message islay beers 3622 º places 18 º 21:34 Wed 12/16/2015 In an unexpected development, Cap’s Grille on Hiawatha Avenue in Minneapolis has plans to convert into a brewpub (or perhaps a taproom with a restaurant component; many reporters don’t understand that distinction). It probably wouldn’t be brewing until 2017 at the earliest. It sounds like a promotional homebrew tasting. According to this article, Unmapped doesn’t even have a head brewer or own brewing equipment yet, and I know it was only recently that it settled on its Tonka Bay space. There is a definite lack of creativity. On the same lines I’ve talked to some people that are getting sick with all the neighborhood/location named breweries in this state.

Message islay beers 3622 º places 18 º 12:35 Thu 12/24/2015 With the caveats that Nutmeg Brewhouse in Burnsville may sneak in a soft opening in the next week and that I’ve visited most of the newly opened locations only once, often very soon after they opened, here are my nominations for the best new Twin Cities area brewpubs and taprooms that opened in 2015: Best new brewpub or taproom based solely on beer: Bad Weather, taproom, St. Paul Runner up: Lupine, taproom, Delano There seems to be nothing on the level of Sisyphus or Fair State, 2014 openings that by this time last year already would have made or at least approached my ever-evolving list of top ten breweries in the state (and since have risen into my top 3). Best new brewpub or taproom based on venue (atmosphere, decor, etc.): Birch’s on the Lake, brewpub, Long Lake Runner up: Lupulin, taproom, Big Lake Your takes?
