We could save a lot of hassle around here if they changed their name, or people didn’t try to force the 3F abbreviation.

Yep, we’re the ones forcing it...

While your Wikipedia (solid reference, BTW) link doesn’t work, I was able to find this page easily enough: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_Fonteinen

A quick "Ctrl-F" and a search for "3F" or "abbreviation" turned up ZERO hits on either page. Neither page suggests that it should be abbreviated "3F". Meanwhile, there is this: http://www.ratebeer.com/Lexicon.asp

Thanks for proving my point!

R&B in Vancouver
Impossible to find directly. I always have to remember the name of one of their beers and find the brewery from there. Luckily they seldom brew a new one...

Werk Force Brewing. My issue is more in the fact that they spell werk with an e. You would think for a start up brewery, who is trying to gain recognition, spelling your name with the German spelling would be a stupid idea.

While Werk is a German word it doesn’t mean ’work’. Werk is Dutch for work though.

3 Fonteinen (so not "Drie Fontein" like you wrote earlier)
Three Floyds

Which one is closest to 3F?

"Drie Fonteinen" or "3 Floyds"? Obviously "3 Floyds".

Except that is not what those breweries are called.

Hill Farmstead.
I said it!

And why? Thee brewer’s name is Hill and it’s on a farmstead.

I know what it is and who Shaun Hill is.
I still think it sounds stupid.

that’s kind of like saying The White House is a stupid name because it’s a house, and it’s white.
Everyone entitled to their opinion, though....
You got a point, but it’s still does not answer the question, what is wrong with the name?
