I know it is this weekend in Asahi TV UMU in Roppongi Hills. I have no expectation that I would be able to go, but I have done a serious search online for info in Japanese and there is NOTHING! There is a Belgian Beer Weekend this weekend also at Roppongi Hills, I can’t imagine they would sell this beer to the general public there - I just assume it is reserved for a special few people.

Anyone heard anything?

Well I sent an email to the organizers of the Belgian Weekend Beer Festival that is taking place at the same location where the Zwanze is supposed to be released.

Dunno--I’m going to Moeder Lambic Fontainas! They are rumoured to have a cask of Iris Grande Cru as well.

Hope you cats over there can get some, though. The "vip only" approach is bull. It would be cool if they were to give it to everyone at the Weekend, but I think they will only have 1 keg, 2 at most. Of course, 99.9% of the people there won’t have a clue what it is.

Supposed to be a Tripel with 10% lambic, btw.

After last year's announcement after it had 'sold out' I didn't bother building up any kind if expectation. I thought the Roppongi Belgian Beer thing was last weekend. Surely not two different festivals on consecutive weekends in the same area?

It is a 10 day festival that ends this weekend. BTW, did you know that Ocktoberfest in Hibiya Park is also on right now? It is part two.

At least this Oktoberfest almost coincides with the real one!

Blimey, 10 days with that beer selection. One thing you have got to say for Delirium in Tokyo is along with all the rubbish that they have on at that festival, they have good stuff too.
Is the Hibiya Oktoberfest any good? I think I remember someone saying it was very pricy.
Think I am saving myself for Keyaki at the moment.

I think Octoberfest in May is great. Perfect temps, you can find good beer, a bit pricy but overall a good time not sure about this one.

No response from beer festival,
I will call them tomorrow.

No more bashing Delirium in Brussels. Today I had 3 new beers from Struise, (Smonk, O.N.E., and the new Tsjeeses Reserva), 3 new from Alvinne, and Spontancassis. All for 2 euros/160ml. How can you beat that? I’m never coming back!
