Great pub in Mitte Berlin. Lots of bottles, with specials,, like for this season christmas beers from a.o. Belguim. One tap (heineken), strange enough. I think about 200 different beers. Can be very busy, there’s a guard/porter letting you in. Departed more or less in two parts, where at the left a lot of people enjoyed the food. we didn’t though becauwe of other plans. Good atmosphere.

Nice place to go for a drink. Nice, wide selection of most German macro’s but why only one draft? Inside looks nice, decorated in an older setting with old brewstuff hanging around. Too bad that we couldn’t stay that long

A popular place for very young people to go out. Therefore, if you’re there just for beers, afternoons are recommended. Wide selection of German beers, mostly macros, but some seem to be hard to find otherwise. Decent prices. Efficient service. Cool environment, lot of antique breweriana.

We came by here once in 2011 for lunch after paying yet another visit to the now sadly defunct Tacheles. Not many people were around so there was plenty of seating, which we appreciated. Got a table by the window watching people passing by on the busy Oranienburger Strasse outside. The main purpose with our visit was to have lunch and they didn’t fail us in this regard. Ample food of a decent quality and price. The young waitress was helpful and suggested beer according to our preferences. As far as I remember they have quite a large list of bottled beers with the main emphasis being on German beer. I didn’t really find a lot of ’interesting’ stuff and ended up drinking a Rothaus Tannenzäpfle Pils followed by an Austrian Kapsreiter Landbier Hell. I would say the place shines mostly in terms of taking the effort to making beer from a variety of locations available in one place, which is an atypical departure from the German tradition of serving only one’s own locally made beer in the brewpub.

Has collection of beers from a lot of countries but no special or real interesting stuff. Food is kinda plain but ok value. Service is mostly ok during the day... This night, though, a guy behind the bar complained to me that I spoke English to him instead of first asking if he spoke English. His English was fine - his attitude wasn’t. All in all I recommend going to one of Berlin’s brewpubs.

Tourist and Expats unite ! Some common foreign beers - mostly bottled. Boring beer on tap. So, where is the ultimate beer bar in Berlin ? I admit: I don´t know.

Interesting enough place, very wide ranging bottled selection (but why only draft Heineken?). Visited on a Sunday afternoon when it was very quiet, so can’t comment on busy periods.

The ’happening street’ in Berlin currently, the whole area is a mass of bars, clubs and eating places. We missed this bar initially, because of scaffolding that was covering the front, plus the street is numbered strangely. We were on the wrong side of the road, no problems once we realised.
Don’t know what it’ll look like outside, but inside it is very basic, with wooden floors and loads of seating/tables. Some interesting paintings, lite very well, to highlight each ones striking points (like a spot light onto a nightscenes moon). We all liked the vibe of the place (two 50+ year olds and two 29 year olds). Lots of American English being spoken around us, as well as German.
The bottled beer selection is very interesting, the only tap being Heineken of all things. I didn’t really look past the German beers, but there were plenty of others and as has been mentioned most appeared to be Belgian.
Service was fine on both occasions my little party of four drank here in mid April 2011. Bottles brought to the table, pour your own. Update from Jan 2012, still busy and fun to use, found some interesting beers to drink (check out the bar top for ones not on the beer menu!).

Decent beer pub with good selection on bottles. Food is quite general but their goulash works every time for little money. As already mentioned below quite touristy, but drop in few hours before 19 o’clock and you’ll have all the space for your beer tasting. The prices are not expensive, but very affordable for locals like me. Service can be pain in the ass in the evenings, when it gets busy.

A lot of beers from all around the world, but mostly bottled stuff - nothing special. A place for average beer drinking tourists - not for the beer-geeks. Good place if you are real thirsty, a little bit tired and interested in tourist-watching.
