One of my favourite brewers and an awesome place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon. There is always something different on tap and Ross brews some of the uniquest and weirdest beers that I have tasted (think crayfish saison). It’s a bit out of the way but well worth a visit and if you can organise a designated driver there is plenty of street parking available on weekends. Service is always great, pizzas are cheap and tasty and there is often a food truck in the car park. Takeaways available and sampling paddles also a great way to get through the extensive range of beers on tap. A beer oasis in the suburbs - get there any way that you can.

Visited on 29th March 2016. After collecting a friend at the airport we drove here as it’s a bit out of town. Standard brewery tap set up with the small system brewing equipment visible. Sampler trays available so started to plough our way through the range. Bar staff was super chatty about the beer, gave us a couple of samples and was just enthusiastic about the beer and the system. Tried some really good and interesting beers here. The cider is also excellent and I’m not a fan at all. In terms of a unique set up then I’d recommend a visit here. It’s excellent. There’s also a well stocked fridge which you can take a little slice of beery madness with you....

A remarkable brewery setup that also shares the space with renowned home brew shop CraftBrewer. The owner Ross has truly created his own little playground, or rather, paradise here. What makes the brewery unique is the purposefully designed brewing equipment. There’s 6 mash tuns and six kettles capable of producing 12 batches of beer a day! They must have brewed every style under the sun by now with hundreds of different beers released over the last few years. The beers are released in keg and bottle format plus there’s also hand-pumped cask ale on the bar as well. Stacked along the back wall are dozens of oak barrels maturing all sorts of beers including the wild variety. The space is well designed, simple and there seems to be suitable table seating, inside and out. Speaking of which, the tables and bartop are recycled from old bowling alley lanes and the pins used as lamp shades - very cool. There’s also an upstairs area with pool table and TV. Regular festivals are held here and you are guaranteed to find new beers on every visit, a ticker’s dream. Surprisingly, with so many beers being released the overall quality is solid but I figure the brewers have been at it for a long time (both home and pro level). Food trucks are parked up for eats as well as pizza from the kitchen. The brewers are usually pouring beers behind the bar which is great if you need info about any of the beers. A really friendly bunch here. Good fun. It’s just a pain it’s such a trek to get out here if you’re coming from anywhere that’s not Redland City area.

A beer mecca in hidden out in the suburbs of Brisbane. They brew all sorts of amazing and creative stuff on site and sell kegs and 5L mini kegs, huge range of home brew supplies. Absolutely worth the effort to get out there. They only sell their own stuff.

Visited July 22, 2013.
Took the bus out, located a fair bit from central Brisbane.
Walking up in the rain realized I never did check if they were open Mondays...
Got there, some people was inside, they informed me they were supposed to be closed, but since I wanted to taste some beers they’d check with Ross. He was busy with another guy who also disturbed them on this Monday for beers, so I hung around, checking out the homebrew supplies etc.
Once Ross had time for me I explained I wanted to sample as many beers as I could before taking the bus back at a certain time, and that he only needed to pour me the beers and tell me which ones they were if he needed to get work done.
Sampled 15 beers, then said I didn’t think I had time for more, since I needed to walk to the bus, Ross told me he would drive me to the bus stop so I could sample 5 more, then he also poured me 3 more for free! Splended service is what I got!
5 glasses of tasters for $10, so I sampled 23 beers for $40 in a few hours, what a day!
Ross was also happy to help out with any info I wanted on the beers. He also took the time to show me around the brewery and explain everything they were doing.
I took bus 262 to Coolnwynpin Creek, then a short walk. Plenty of homebrew supplies and also kegs for take away. 20 taps with Bacchus beers, plus some extra in the fridge.
Out of the way, yes, but well worth it to visit! Just perhaps do it during normal opening hours instead.

This is a working brewery and a pretty darn good bar, now open 7 days a week. The bar setup is impressive with the bar and tables made from old bowling alley lanes with a backdrop of aging barrels or the brewery. During the weekdays you’ll probably get served by the brewers The range of tap beers is very impressive and constantly changing, and the guys are happy to guide you through the extensive range - lots of interesting experimental beers. Usually has food trucks on Friday and Saturdays. Well worth the effort of visiting.
