Brouwerij Troost - de Pijp

Visited July 2019 & I just had that feeling ! Sure brew kit here etc etc The helpful barman was honest & said beer is not brewed here anymore, They are a chain of 3 brew pubs ( once ) they now only brew at the Westerpark Brew pub So in effect, this is NOT a brew pub anymore, A shame as it’s a decent bar as well, a bit like a proper pub

I ended up at this place without planning it (delayed KLM flight -> a night in a nearby hotel) but I found a hearty brewpub with an interesting and rather eclectic selection of beers including some more unusual styles, mostly very good. Nice and sympathetic service helped, together with the beers, to same my long and hectic day on the way. Wonder what the two other Troost places are like.

This was a fun place. Completely empty inside, I was the only one at one of the high bar tables in front of the serving bar. Outside tables were empty too, but there was a sort of conservatory thing out back that was completely full. Service was efficient and friendly, and I split the responsibility for choosing my flight with the server - her two choices were better than my two choices. Tasty burgers. Worth a stop.

Busy, crowded, and rather noisy when we entered the brewpub early on a Thursday eve. Two rooms, a beer garden, and the brewery plant to the rear of the main room. 12 of their own beers on taps supported by a few bottles. Proefglass of 150ml, 10 Euros for four of them. Polite service by the table. My classic burger had a satisfying fresh and sappy taste, and the beers were just alright, quite ordinary, I would say. Popular by young adults. Tamla Motown music in the back. Located in the de Pijp area in the southern part of town, bus and tram (no.12) stops near by. (Visited with Leif 08.03.2018).

Big open space which I'd imagine gets too crowded on busy nights. Around 10 beers available with flights being offered - seems inconsistent on whether you can choose the beers yourself but we managed. The burgers looked pretty tasty.

Modern brewery taproom with 9 beers on tap (10 actually, but the tenth is a tap infusion thingy that's unrateable) and a couple more bottles. Flights available (and unlike kermis mentioned, we were able to completely configure the flight; maybe our staff was in a better mood). The food I've had was excellent, and the staff was attentive. Worth to visit, especially if you consider the pretty great burger options. No Cash, cards only, which is super annoying, though. [Unlike Craig says, it's not at all German styles only: We visited the place together and tried a Honey blonde, Amber Ale, Session IPA, IPA, NEIPA, Tripel, Smoked Porter, a Pils and a Weizen, and there would have been a Barleywine from the bottle. That's no German styles except the Pils and the Weizen...]

Big food feeling bar.. Lots of communal tables... Mostly German / lagerish feel or styles beers with a couple of others styles. Flights available...beer ok condition but not over exciting as im not a big German beer fan. Burger was very nice.. NO CASH. Just cards which is a massive fail for me

Fairly big and modern place with a decent selection of their own beers on tap and in bottle. Tasting flights available although as another reviewer mentioned you can’t pick your own. However, when I visited two ticks I wanted were included and it was fairly easy to convince the guy serving to swap out one of the beers. So, service was pretty good. Food was fairly decent pub style but overpriced for what you get. Still, a decent brewpub that I’ll certainly keep visiting once in a while.
