Nicely situated pub. They stopped brewing their own beers. Average beer menu, some local brews, mostly commercial brews. Food is allright. Atmosphere fine, service okay.

We dropped by here Saturday 29th September 2018 on our slow meander back to the Hoek of Holland and our return journey back to the UK. It was really sunny today and so Scheveningen was really bustling, however we parked along the front, it's not cheap at over €9 for 3 hours but at least its convenient for both the beach and places such as as this. Btw I was sad to see on this site that the nearby Rootz at the Harbour had closed permanently as we'd enjoyed our visit there last time we were in this town. Brouwcafe De Hofnar is in a good position looking out onto the harbour and its location meant it was also reasonably busy with people eating or just enjoying a beer.

We ordered the IPA and I had a Pilsner (both small and the weakest options), I think that they had about three of their beers on tap. We sat outside, I only ventured inside twice once to use the toilet and then to pay but it looked a good size inside with the bar placed centrally, toilets rear left and plenty of seating. The beers were quite good, they never blew me away but they were enjoyable. We also ordered food which was similar i.e. good, reasonably priced but not amazing, I had the burger Loz had the chicken burger, we were both a bit disappointed that the chicken wasn't a breast fillet but some formed processed burger but mine was ok and the chips looked homemade. Service was very friendly and swift. I never really looked any further than their own options but I believe they had a bottled beer list and others on tap to choose from. Btw they take mastercard which was a big plus for us.

3 pub taps +1 rotating pub tap. 3 commercial taps + 1 rotating commercial tap. Bottle list of around 50 or so, mostly Belgian classics. A good place to take a break if you are visiting the area. Next to the harbour and close to the beach. In the off-season the harbour offers a nice view. Croq goat cheese was a nice lunch paired with the pubs Winterbock.

Dinner stop on our first night in Den Haag. Near the ocean, cold and breezy which is pretty much the norm here. The had outdoor seating, but the wind was gusty enough to blow even heavy things over, so that was not really an option. Inside was nice and homy. Service was solid, perhaps a bit slow but friendly and competent. They have a pretty good belgian focused bottle list, including all three Westy’s, as well as a tap list of their own beers plus some guest brews. They offer a flight of five which when I was there included four of theirs and a bartender selected guest. Their beers were pretty average at best, unfortunately. Food was good, and with the bottle selection you cannot NOT find something you would enjoy here. Solid choice for the waterfront.

Great Place, awesome food, lovely service. We stumbled across this place while on vacation here in DenHaag/Scheveningen. The Food is really good, the Beer Selection is decent and the service seems to be a Bunch of nice Beer loving People you want to hang out with.

A bright and lively café at the end of the inner harbour. The walls are busy with posters and beer mats and the bar has a distinctly nautical feel. They have ten taps, including five of their own (it’s a brewpub), and sample trays are available. We were made to feel welcome by the very friendly staff but then we were with John, who lives just round the corner and is a regular customer. (Visited 25 September 2014).

Visited a few times, latest in september 2014, with beery friends. Placed in the harbour, easy to get to. Parking outside or the tram stops close by. They have around 5 beers of their own, on tap. It is possible to get a sampler, nice size. They have also a few beers on bottle. They do nice food as well. Spacy, cosy brewpub, decorated with a lot of beer sign. Lots of seats inside, as well as outside. Friendly staff, for sure worth a visit.

Brewpub with an overlook along the peirs of Scheveningen, very nice sitting outside on a sunny day. 5 house beers and a few geust on tap. Nice bottle list with a good selection of some of the better Belgian beers, a few lambic etc. Good value, especially considering the area. 5 nice size samples for 5,5€. Fine service.

Hmm did I not rate this place? Weird. Been awhile since I visited. Nice place, both for beer and to have (pub) dinner. Staff was very friendly, brewer came up to ask my opinion about his beers. Valued the feedback. I felt very comfortable and had a good time there.
