86 Very busy beer bar (and brewery) in the latin quarter of Montreal, QC, Canada. Atmosphere is very lively, although a little congested in my view. Music pretty high. Kind service, people behind the bar seem to like each other and to have fun. Very wide selection, all from the brewery itself. Overall, a nice bar I'd be happy to go back to. |
76 Definitely in a touristy area, but not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The street was pedestrianized when I visited, not sure whether permanently or temporarily. Sidewalk terrace in total sun with a few disused umbrellas. Inside is dark, a long bar with restaurant tables. Beer list was 2/3 house beers and the rest a variety but mostly Mikkeller (including four deProef lambic styles); flights of five are possible. Food was very filling pub grub. Service was OK. Decent stop. |
54 On a random night it was full. We managed to find ourselves couple seats at the counter, drank half pint and left. We no like touristy places. |
90 Surprisingly, the Saint-Bock was my favorite place at Rue Saint-Denis.
Nice bar and patio with a very nice selection of 40+ beer on tap. Also some very small brewerys, flights and taster available. Very nice "big fridge" of interesting and rare bottles (Mikkeller Black, Struise Old Pannepot 2009). We had lots of fun, also nice and smart staff. |
74 large place, industrial / sports bar decour; about 40 beers on tap, own and guest; good wifi; limited and relatively expensive food |
76 Strolled from old Montreal to this urban place on a sunny Thursday midday. The patio was bristling, but there was ample seating in the roomy bar area. The staff was very friendly and multi-lingual (actually a Londoner behind the bar!). The beer list is massive, initially a trick to figure out which are theirs and which are from other regional crafters.
I had three of their brews, all pretty good. The food menu is limited and I didn't eat, but it looked OK by Montreal standards. Worth a stop.
Brewery #872. |
80 Visited May, 2017. Had a good meal and some really interesting beer (pretty sure this was the first Eisbock I ever had). Not worth going out of your way for but it's pretty convenient to city center and they have solid food. |
76 I like the neighborhood, large place with a great selection. Wish I had more time !! |

62 Big place with outside seating. Red lights, again back to french bars from early 1960s.
Had a burger with way too much mayo and the worst fries in my life!! Had some of their beers, subpar in general. Both La Reincarnation and cassis are bland and boring. The best rated beer Double Malediction is an ok but stil boring. |
