Inconspicuous Zoiglstube in the centre of Windischeschenbach. Very friendly woman behind the bar, very friendly folks there. I just wanted to try their Zoigl and ended up drinking several at the Stammtisch, chatting with lots of locals. Good place, and one of the few that are open during the week.

Zoiglstube that is open monday to thursday evening, plus wednesday around noon. Simple food but great value. Outstanding Zoigl. The Loistl family also run the Alter Pfarrhof in Altenstadt a.d. Waldnaab.

As the ratings suggest, this is probably my favourite bar on Earth - and I’ve been in a lot over 50 years! of course, in order to enjoy Anni and Rudi’s super bar, you’ve got to like Zoigl, because that’s all there is on offer. But, if you do, and you like friendly and helpful service and a hospitable Stamtisch, this is the place for you. Mention me if you go!
