Scruffy City Hall

This is a cool, simple bar in Market Square. It's a really similar idea to Pres Pub next door: multi level bar, live music on stage, pretty decent beer selection, but no smoking in Scruffy City Hall. A few years ago the tap list here would be worth mentioning. These days there are tons of other bars in Knoxville with this kind of line up. Plenty of quality (and questionable) TN beers are available, but nothing super sought after. We went early in the day so it was kind of quiet. Service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. We seem to end up on Market Square a lot, so it's great to have another option.

Visited by recommendation of Suttree. The place is right in Market Square, by almost everything else. There are multiple floors to the building, but I stuck to the first floor. Big bar with a bunch of taps, and a lot of them things new to me and from Tennessee. The samplers I had were all great. Good Service and decent pricing. Would recommend.

New bar on Market Square, with a brewing operation set to open in Spring 2014 (We’ll see....). Very cool space - an interior balcony overlooks a performance area, and an indoor / outdoor patio overlooks Market Square. There are 2 bars and both seem to have a pretty nice selection. Seems like a fun place.
