70 Visited for dinner on a Wednesday. Big sprawling traditional pizza joint located in downtown Columbia. The counter where you order pizza is directly ahead as you enter. You can order a beer from the 8 taps at the counter, or you can order a beer at the bar around the corner which offered a wider selection, looked to be about 16 beers. Cans and bottles also available. Solid list of local beers, as well as National craft. Nothing terribly limited, but all well chosen. Seating was in many different rooms, and built to handle any size of party. Local friendly crowd, I ordered at the counter, service was understandably quick and efficient. Pizza was great. 70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
72 Visited here once and loved it. the pizza was ok, the bar was old and very collegey but in a fun way. My favorite part was the 2.50 pints of Two Hearted, cant beat that. |
80 First and foremost, the pizza at this very low-key and informal corner restaurant is delicious. Whether you are getting a simple cheese pizza or a masterpiece with about 2 pounds of toppings, you are in for a treat. Alongside this delicious food, you can often find quality beer as well. Although there isn’t too terribly much variety, you can still find up to 12 different beers on tap between the front counter and the back bar, which will often include Bell’s, Founder’s, Boulevard, and Schlafly. In bottles, you can find some Southern Tier, Rogue, Tallgrass, and some other random good brews. It can get crowded, especially when its still early enough for families but late enough for the drinking crowd. All in all, this place is worth visiting for the food and some beer. |
64 Shakespeare’s is a great college pizza place. It probably has the best pizza in Missouri and is a must stop for anyone visiting. Very cool college hangout. With that being said, they don’t have a very extensive beer selection, maybe 8-12 beers on tap, and nothing that will blow you away. GREAT pizza, cool college bar, but not a huge beer selection. |
78 This is what it is. A pizza place in the middle of a college town. Except for, the pizza is great (pepper cheese/pepperoni). It IS a college bar, once you accept this, it is a great place to be. Can be a little dark inside, and it is kid friendly (after taking mine there recently on a pass through 20 years after college) Beer selection is above average for a pizza joint, so you can get something that is drinkable if you desire. |
76 Good pizza that is a little expensive. The beer prices are good and the selection is good and increases on a fairly regular basis. |
74 Good college bar close to MU. A few craft selections on tap as well as BMC as to be expected. Good value on beer and food. Food is above average and pizza is well above. Worth a visit! |
80 Best pizza in missouri be far. On game day, there is no where else in the world that you wanna be. Expect maybe Farrot field. Great atmosphere, great food, great service, and cold beer. What else you need? |
70 Close to the edge of Mizzou’s campus in downtown Columbia. Big place, but it fills up really fast. We went before noon on a Sunday and it was jammed- not surprising for a game weekend. The pizza is awesome. Pretty good rotating selection of bottles and taps- always a Boulevard or two or three on tap. A must-visit in Columbia, even for non-beer drinkers. |
70 Decent beer on tap - lots of Bells and Founders. They also have a fridge full of beer, that can compensate if their taps aren’t as good. Nice college hangout with good pizza by the slice. |
