88 Easy to find location. Late afternoon on Saturday and the place was busy but had no trouble finding seat at bar. Good draft beer list. Freindly service and good knowledge of beers. Started with tap list and I had new beers for me. Very good food menu of pizza and wings at a good price. Short trip from downtown Dayton, and short trip from Cincy. |
82 Stopped in to check this place out and have a beer while in town. The atmosphere is good to me, but some might not like it. It’s a hybrid of a retro sports bar (not fancy, but with plenty of tv’s, including a projection screen that had the Big East Tournament playing), a corner bar, and a pizza place/restaurant - all with a great beer selection (both draft and bottle). The service was great (the bartender was awesome, knew her beer, and let me try several draft samples that were all new ticks), and I didn’t eat, but the menu looked good as well (homemade pizzas in addition to bar food). |
84 Seriously, how have I not rated this place yet? We go here all the time with friends, family and just as a couple. Always a unique lineup of beers on draft with usually one or two that are fairly limited. Great food too: try the fried green beans. Neighborhood is a little worn but also check out Ghostlight Coffee down the street. |
100 A great surprise hidden in an older historic neighborhood. Amazing selection on 18 taps that changes pretty much daily. Great pizzas and subs, too. Loved the vibe, service, food, and especially the beers. They even offer a taste of a tap if you want to try first. Still amazed at the beer selection and quality of beers! I also heard that they are going to auction off (for charity) about 10 bottles of Westvleteren 12 in August!! This is a special little beer bar. |
86 Great little beer bar. Tap list is always changing and full of some pretty amazing brews. Only issue is space is limited. On live music nights there is a cover which can be annoying if all you want is a good brew. No cover for the patio though. Great lil slice of heaven in Dayton’s South Park District. |
78 A smaller place than I thought and the bar stools need some backs.
But a nice draft selection and the bottle wwern’t bad either.
Great pizza and the sald awas good.
Nice back groud music of rock/roll.
Thye do have live entertainment.
I liked the place a lot. |
88 Probably my favorite place to go in Dayton. Great selection of beer, he pizza is fantastic. I have always had great service. The location is a little dodgy if you have never been there before, but that is no big deal. Awesome place. |
90 Love the patio! Great for a warm summer night. The selection is usually good. The staff is very friendly and the pizza is great! Overall very satisfied! |
72 Damn, I thought sure I’d already rated this place. SPT started promisingly. Some really nice rare finds were on tap including Petrus Aged Pale and and Goose Island Pepe Nero. Since then I’d have to say the tap selection has become far more "standardized" as the focus has become more about the live music. I check the tap list online every few weeks and for the last several months I’ve found no compelling reason to drive all the way there for a beer. That said, if I were in the area this is a good stop. As the other posters have indicated the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired and the service to non-regulars can be a bit surly at worst, disinterested at best. |
