60 Large place very busy on a Friday evening. Came for the eat & pint combo. Decent Irish red ale, food very average |

58 Visited on 9th Oct 2018. Huge place, similar to The Knights Templar Wetherspoons in so much as it's in an old banking establishment. This one however is darker and I didn't like it for some reason. Large central island bar with four banks of hand-pulls and plenty of keg lines. Service was typical Spoons, meaning there were just about enough members of staff all trying to be pleasant and being busy. Four of us ate here, big mistake; wasn't impressed with the standard and quality (which is unusual for the 'ping cuisine' you get at most Spoons). Beer wasn't in great condition either. Made a special effort to come here, doubt I will return. |

68 Big 'spoons, with plenty of seating around a central feature bar. Always busy but generally service is good. Up to 21 ales plus a reasonable selection of bottles. Good vibe to place. One of the better JDW's I've visited. |
78 Located in an old bank. A very majestic building which is pretty cool. A decent range of quality beers including some casks. Fine service, decent prices |
58 Never been sure why this place has such a good rep - but that may be because they sold out of the beers I wanted by the time I got there! However I also find it a bit soulless and depressing. Yes. it’s cavernous but compared to some other Spoons they don’t make the most of it. A place to drop in to if I am passing. |

74 Never realised I had not rated this place. Old work local on early shifts, remember a pint with breakfast at 10:30 in the morning on (lunch break) - place has not changed that much on more recent visit. Building was a massive old Banking Hall with high ceilings, and retains allot of the old character, loads of tables and spacious around the bar. Good large selection of taps available, pretty quick service even when busy, although ambience suffers somewhat in the busier times. Well worth stopping over, especially when the spoons fests are on to score a few scoops. |
66 Visited the 27th May 2016 - visited on a Friday evening... Wow very huge and crowded place. Very impressive place. Noisy with a huge screen, central bar. Standard selection for a JDW. Service ok. Place must be visited to see the decoration and feel atmosphere. Amazing architecture. |
