It’s about 20 mins walk from the main train station on the main drag. Very close to most of the hotels. Didn’t see a bar area. prices were 11 to 15 or so Ringit for bottled beers from Europe. There were some Fullers (UK), Flensburger (Germany) and a couple of Belgian beers like Grimbergen. Friendly helpful staff.

Cozy and relaxed bar which has a fridge dedicated to a variety of different beers, and not a Tiger in sight. Cool place, though it was dead quiet on a Friday evening. Expect to pay around 20-30 MYR for the beers.

Cool place in a cool town. Tiny, cozy, dark, conducive to conversation, show variety of stuff on the TV like nature shows, play variety of music, and has decent variety of beer for MY. There are only 5 tables plus a small bar. Every table was full. Four including ours was couples drinking together, and one was a group of females sharing some beers and they were there with their kids, who were so well behaved we didn’t even realize they were there. So this whole chilled out vibe is very unusual for MY and I really appreciated being in a "normal" or European-style bar--but with local ppl. So nice not to have a pissup testosterone bar or one that plays hideous music too loud.

Liquor store and bar, side-by-side. The bar is a real bar and not for tourists either, a rarity in Malaysia. They carry, along with having a walk-in wine cooler, around twenty different beers. So a handful of Germans, La Trappe stuff, Grolsch Hefeweizen. Nothing too mind-bending but it might be the only decent place to drink in Ipoh.
