Really cool brewpub located in downtown Asheville. Service was really good on the night I went even though it was very busy. The selection seemed good but honestly when the first beer you get is as good as Freak you don’t bother switching. I only ordered an appetizer (the artisanal cheeses) but that was very good and more than enough. A great addition to the Asheville beer scene and possibly already the best brewer in the area.

Low key but nice atmosphere- lots of wood and burnished metal with an industrial feel. They were pretty busy when we got there with people filtering out- service was fine. They had a decent selection of their own brews but were out of a couple of their most popular ones. Was sorry not to be able to try the sour which was "only available on Fridays." The beers were decent, but almost all of the ones we tried had a rubbery note. Prices seemed good- under $20 for five beers.

Went here on my February visit but forgot to rate it. A brand new brewpub with a nice selection of beers. I tried to go to the downstairs tasting area with little luck, it was packed out on a Thurs night. The upstairs area is nice and all new feeling. The food was good also. This is a must stop when in Asheville

Very awesome new brewpub in downtown Asheville. Wide open bar/restaurant on the first floor of a converted gas station. The garage doors and exposed brick give off a neat industrial feel. Brewery and tasting room on the lower floor. Fantastic beers on draft that focus on refreshing IPAs and Belgian styles. Man, wish I wasn’t driving... I thought the food was fantastic! My wife had a great kale salad with fried cheese and I had a juicy bison burger with bleu cheese cole slaw. All cole slaw should have bleu cheese! Overall, fantastic! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Excellent beer, some what out of the regular vein for Asheville. Meaning it reminds me of Charlotte. Lots of skinny dudes with tight jeans and beards, spray on tans, you know Jersey Shore types. Enough about the people hanging there though right? So upstairs is the liquor bar and restaurant, with limited beer availability so no wood aged or high gravity selections. The food is great and very reasonably priced for what you get. If you want cheap hit Mamacitas up on your way in its right next door. The tasting room entrance is a stair case on the far left of the bar, small sign with arrow. The tasting bar down stairs is usually pretty busy but the beertenders are very professional and fast. Everything the brewery makes or has avaialble is on down here, sours barrel aged etc. FYI the standard IPAs have a good load of Summit so expect a full frontal of onion. Personally feel that the imp red, Black Angel and some of the Saisons are where its at, not all mind you some of the Saisons we’ve had were sloppy at best. Cask on Tuesdays, BBL Imp stout Thursdays, Black Angel Cherry Sour on Fridays. Do it.

Wow, what a place. One pet peeve... while the brewpub opens at 11, the downstairs brewery doesn’t open until 2, which means I didn’t get to try the beers I really wanted to try. Other than that, it’s great. It seems like turning a Henry VIII quote into an entire theme is a stretch, but it works. Located in an old garage, the place had lots of windows and exposed brick. That, along with dark wood tables leads to a nice vibe. Around 40 taps overall, 14 upstairs with the rest downstairs. I think that everything available upstairs is also available downstairs. Insane considering they’ve not even been open three months. The beers were all of good quality with a couple of standouts. I had a friend chicken and kim chi sandwhich which was excellent. The beer sampler (pick 6) is pricy at $9, but other than that beer prices are pretty solid. Street parking and there is a cheap garage up the block. My bartender Emil was very friendly and very helpful. This is an awesome addition to the Asheville scene.

One of the best brewpubs I’ve ever been to! A large open upstairs with long bar and plenty of seating. Downstairs bar is smaller but has the special taps. Service was spot on, friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Selection was great too with 16 taps, samplers available Sun-Thursday, half pints too. Growlers or half growlers available on most beers. Food was great too. An absolute must hit!

Very modern rustic feel to the place when you walk in, and because it’s so new everything is still very clean. Service was very good, not too overbearing while still helpful and knowledgeable about their beers. Selection was great, although only their brews there was something for everyone, all different styles from basic APA to Bourbon Aged Imperial Stouts, to Cherry Sours. Food was fantastic; modern American gastropub type fair, and pretty reasonably priced. Good value compared to everywhere in town, cheaper beers and moderately priced food. Great place, a must stop now in Asheville; well done for being so new.

This place is serious. It’s been open for about a month and somehow I didn’t know about it until now. In a city full of respectable breweries, this is has already made a case for #1. The ambiance is fantastic. It’s rustic downstairs with exposed brick and stone with a full view of the brewing equipment. Upstairs has more of a restaurant ambiance, but maintains the wood and brick feel. The food menu is small, but is full of delicious things. I had beef tartar and will be going back tonight to try something different. The beer list is easily the best of any brewpub in Asheville. Not only does it rotate frequently and cover a wide array of styles, they range from solid and reliable to wildly experimental. I sipped on three different beers and they were all exceptionally made. The whole place was packed on a Sunday night. Seating upstairs had a wait but downstairs we managed to claim a spot and got good service for the rest of the night. I will likely be back here everytime I come to AVL.
