Clear deep golden yellow color, still. Aroma of earthy lightly dusty apple skins and light lemon. Taste is lightly tart and earthy apple flesh, light citrus, light vanilla, light to medium tannins, bone dry finish. Stands out significantly from most American ciders, reminds me of England. Quick3Beers	3.5 Iapetus Cider Pours a nice effervescent pale gold from a bottle. Nice syrupy apple, concentrated sugar, faint yeast on the edge. Flavor is a little less dimensional, straightforward ripe apple with a slight tart finish exacerbated by the bubbles. Pet nat, quite bubbly with small bubbles. Pretty good cider. Similar flavor, quite dry and with the faintest of smoke notes on the finish, or at least I perceive it that way. Unfortunately way too bubbly for my taste, very distracting. Pretty good cider. MicroGrog	3.6 Eden Troc Star Harvest Cider Glad I was lazy & didn't have to add this. Thank you Brits! Rare Vos glass @home. $15 four-pack from Appalachian. Concerned by the low abv, but this Eden budget line has always been solid. This is the first Harvest blend I've seen that incorporates zero heritage apples, but ferments on some second use grape skins like a piquette. Clear, vibrant, classy gold pour. Quick reaching soda head. Very fumy, floral apples with some significant sour melon/table grape-ish punch. All the Harvest blends seem to have this bold aromatic, fresh apple skin quality. Taste is Mott's, but much less juice box. Very floral apples, bittersharp, apricot, lemon, saline, big white grape acidity, borderline sour that is just a hair too aggressive, weak but appreciated tannic nibble through the finish. Almost dry. Headache, but no sulfites added. Creative blend. Again, love how they're pumping out solid flavor at a good price point. Monday, July 10, 2023

Apple skin, white pepper, sherry-like oxidation. Dry, clean, peppery, dainty. Super dry, ultra attenuated. Clean, white pepper, soft apple flesh. MicroGrog	3.7 Eden Sandwich Buddy $14 a 750 from Appalachian. Without a sip yet, I'm thinking this is their canned Harvest base spritzed with some bittersweets for the amateur cider crowd. Cost doesn't compare to their main lineup. Goblet @home. Over the top soda head. Hazy, pale straw, crazy active pour. Nose is bittersweets, pineapple, with a whiff of faint red dessert tail. Just a hair sweet & perceptibly boozy overall. Hyper sharp & tropical upfront. Bittersweets, sour lemon lime, white tea, dried pineapple, watered down gin, boozy, minerally, earthy & Aspirin bitter finish that definitely has a little sugar in it. Missing that absolute parch-ness. Force carb is way strong. A little like that sparkling dry Reisling unicorn I have yet to encounter. Good. Monday, June 5, 2023

I thought this was still, but I'm getting a little sizzle. Yeasty, sour peach, sour grape, white pepper. Really reaching to find something more. MicroGrog	4.2 Eden FMOOTO This was cheaper to acquire direct & shipped than at my local... Tulip @home. Corked not caged. 2019 batch. Clear, middling gold, intentionally still, but with the tiniest of particles in suspension. Pineapple-apple-orange juice box, grassy, un-ripe stone fruit, dewy sweet-smelling flowers. Light & airy. Bracing & sharp upfront, with a tang of complex green/sour fruit lengthwise. It bulges out with zest then gets thin & wine-y. There's an obvious classy red skin Mcintosh note in the middle there(it's reassuringly apple-y). Right near the end everything gets mellow & you sort of get into frosting/marzipan feels when it drags out dry. Clenching finish. Pretty impressive for just 6%. This is the kind of fun still bottles we use to get from Eve's(Albee Hill) before they wanted to be more pedestrian in that line. Very good to great. Wednesday, January 18, 2023

Stuffy & volatile & first. Dry grass, butter, apple peel, graphite, dust. Stiff, bittersweet leaning bitter. Apricot, caramel dipped apple, spent wood, whiskey, honey-coated Aspirin. Strong astringency, medium acid, medium low tart, juicy. Almost a true dry finish. Zero funk. A messy cocktail with nothing quite in unison. Very crispy, strong carb, thin, residual yeasties, harsh. A good stiff drink when all you really wanted was a palatable cider. I feel this represents a lot of Eden products before they add their signature ice cider back sweetening that tends to cloud people's judgement of the final product. Tuesday, January 17, 2023

Not sure how that correlates to the "Brut" label, but here we go. Clear, watermelon, sizzle pour. Smell is sweet non-descript berries, white sugar, cranberry juice. Taste is that crispy desert flesh & taut skin profile you find in all the Harvest line-up. More sugar than the other three cans, cranberry/currant, plus some syrupy body bleeding through the force carb. Very end has some odd oxidation. Tis okay. Friday, December 23, 2022
