2.8 Falcon Blackberry Mead Clear rosy copper, still. Aroma of dried fruit skin and a sharp acidic waxy honey. Flavor is dry and odd. Fruity note of blackberry but not as fun or tasty as the actual fruit. Almost tastes stale. Medium honey sweetness that still leaves a stale fruit skin taste behind. Has a bit of a currant flavor to it. Sunday, March 24, 2013

3.3 Falcon Mountain Mead Clear still light golden with a syrupy aroma of honey and floral nectar. Flavor is strong and warm with notes of wildflower and nectar-y honey and a touch of sweet plastic and some boozy phenols. Sugary sweet with a honey note that comes across as alcoholic. Strong notes of wildflower. Sunday, March 24, 2013

3.5 Falcon Dry Blackberry Mead Bottle at Santa Fe Renn Faire. Is warm gold. Bright dry fruit in the aroma is not overdone. Fairly full bodied with seed character. I prefer this to the standard mead, which I found too sweet but perhaps went better with food. Wednesday, October 5, 2011

2.6 Falcon Dry Blackberry Mead Light amber. The aroma is mostly straight honey mead with hardly any fruit. Soft fruitiness, alcohol, and the mead taste comes in late. The presence of fruit wine in the production of this is evident and it really takes away from the overall presentation. Saturday, September 24, 2011

3.5 Falcon Mountain Mead Light straw colour, maybe with a slight haze. Rich honey florals with a woody alcoholic note on the nose. Very sweet, with big honey flavours. Soft body, and just a hint of alcohol to dry it out at the end...if only just a bit. Fun, fairly complex version of a sweet mead. Might get cloying if you have more than a small glass, though. 3.4 Falcon Mountain Mead bottle 11/1/10. weird... cloudy pour of yellowy brown. it smells intensely of flowers and honeycomb wax with a teenie bit of lemon and vanilla in the background. the flavor has a cinnamon component on top of the characteristics from the aroma and a small acidic balance on the finish. fuller bodied but not too sweet. 6/4/6/3/15 Tuesday, July 26, 2011

3.2 Falcon Mountain Mead Bottle shared at the Black Friday tasting. Pours cloudy yellow with thin head. The nose is sweet berries and honey. The nose is sweet honey, berries and a slight sour berry flavor in the middle. Medim mouthfeel. A little strange. Sunday, February 6, 2011

2.2 Falcon Mountain Mead I think we got a bad bottle or something. Aroma only slightly of honey and wildflower. Taste was incredibly too alcohol dominant and the slightest of sweetness. Palate was damn near undrinkable. Friend at a local liquor store told us there was a bad batch around the time we got it... Will try again and hopefully re-rate much higher. Hate to be disappointed in product from my own state... Tuesday, February 1, 2011

3.5 Falcon Mountain Mead Thanks to Hellbilly! Bottle pours hazy gold. Aroma is sweet with notes of stone fruit (peach, apricot), buttered pie crust, caramel, honey, and light florals. Flavor shows the same. It’s pretty well balanced and not overly cloying. Friday, November 5, 2010

3.3 Falcon Mountain Mead Bottle courtesy of hellbilly, thanks! I have to preface this by saying that mead is not my thing. But this was a bit better than most meads I’ve had - less sweet, decent summer fruits and spice. Could be more complex, but overall pretty good. Tuesday, November 2, 2010

3.7 Falcon Mountain Mead Hellbilly hooks it up! Yellow pour. Butterscotch, honey, caramel, light fruity esthers. Flavor is sweet and has a nice wildflower honey note, ripe nectarines, grapes. Nice stuff. Monday, November 1, 2010

3.7 Falcon Mountain Mead Bottle thanks to Hellbilly. Pours with a somewhat hazed (odd, but there is yeast at the bottom), golden color. Medium strength legs. Aroma of honey, butter, florals and peach. Taste is sweet, with fruit (berries and peach), and caramel nectar. Quite good, albeit, not very complex. Slight buttery pie crust presence too. Light to medium bodied for a mead, very pleasant. Alcohol a bit too evident, but its a nice edition. Thursday, July 30, 2009

4 Falcon Peach Mead Bottle at Papago. Aroma is disconcerting as it is alcohol-forward. Color is a clear gold. Flavor is more like a grape wine than any mead I have tried: it boasts not only flavor and light texture but that ethereal hazy quality that wine’s alcohol sends up one’s nose. Light peach thins the honey thickness. Sunday, May 10, 2009
