3.9 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Pours a cloudy amber color as the aromas of fruits tickle your nose as well as wheat. Has a smooth fruity taste that you could compare to fruity pebbles. Perhaps it’s not the best fruit beer on the market, but it was still good and very drinkable. Thursday, January 24, 2013

2.4 BluCreek Zen IPA Aroma is bread, spices and an undercurrent of hops, while the appearance gold-orange and cloudier than most IPAs. The flavor is citrus, tea, bread and a dryish finish. I’ll give them credit for trying something different, it just didn’t work though. Friday, June 1, 2012

2.1 BluCreek Blueberry Ale 3/15/11. 12oz bottle courtesy cbfobes. Hazy purple pour like blueberry juice poured into OJ with a small purplish head that fades fast. Very light aroma of fruit and soft wheat with a similarly light flavor of almost nothing. This is nothing... with a dash of blueberry. Weird. Sunday, May 15, 2011

3 BluCreek AltBier Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a murky brown with a thin diminishing head, aroma is sweet iwth malt and has a decent amount of caramel, the flavor has a bready backbone with smooth malt, nothing special but not bad. Sunday, January 23, 2011

2.6 BluCreek Blueberry Ale On tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, pours a hazy dark amber with a nice white head, nose is of sweet malt and a hint of blueberry, flavor has a some funk mixed in with a processed blueberry finish, I really didn’t enjoy this all that much. Sunday, January 23, 2011

3.2 BluCreek AltBier bottle - Pours dark amber suspended yeast flakes and a very small light tan head. It has an aroma of caramel malt and toffee. The flavori s similar with sweetness somewhat balanced by light hops. It’s medium bodied and overall pretty good. Saturday, December 25, 2010

3.2 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Poured a nice dark amber with light head that faded to lace fairly quickly. A slighly sweet aroma with a malty base and berry-like surroundings. Taste started out as mainly malt and then finished with an interesting light berry and hop interlude. Mouth feel was decent. Overall a nice brew with just the right amount of blueberry - you can taste it but it does not overwhelm. Definitely a possible repeat. Friday, September 10, 2010

2.9 BluCreek Zen IPA aroma is decent breadiness hidden beneath a pile of crushed asprin. appearance is murky gold with zilch head and moderate lacing. flavor is strong ginger like flavor with more fresh bread and a dose of something more rotten, hops are unable to shine through this mess. what a strange beer. 3.4 BluCreek AltBier aroma is excellent toasted malt with background of roasted nuts. appearance is translucent gold leaning towards brown. flavor is more toast echoed from the nose, lightly bitter end is a touch unpleasant. lack of overpowering malt sweetness earns points as does tasty malt character. this beer is taking a beating from raters for no good reason. Sunday, April 11, 2010

2.1 BluCreek Zen IPA very hazy orange pour with a thick white head. Aroma is light sweet biscuity malt with an herbal hop and green tea presence. Tea flavours feature prominently and covers up a lot of the malt sweetness at first, though some breadlike sweetness is in there somewhere. Also a light herbal hoppiness and a kind of chalky mouthfeel to the finish. Thursday, January 14, 2010

3.1 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Wellllll, gosh, not quite sure what to say. On one hand, the aroma and flavor have pretty decent true blueberry characteristics and is not cloyingly sweet. On the other hand it’s a little thin and shallow in all the other beer qualities. Poured with a nice fine light tan to off white head that mostly faded and no lace. Color is a clear medium amber. Can smell the blueberry as soon as bottle is cracked. Other than that some malt. Flavor’s about the same. Body is thin and carbonation is ok. Finish is blueberry ok. Not really a session for me, but maybe for someone. Sunday, December 20, 2009

1.4 BluCreek Zen IPA Murky orange pour with white ring of head around the glass. Herbal, sweet aroma. Flavor isn’t as sweet: has a malty biscuity taste with light medicinal bitterness and odd herbal note. Odd yeast characteristics. KInd of flat. No real hops. This beer was like drinking some random concoction some strange relative made you to make you feel better when you’re sick. Friday, October 30, 2009

1.9 BluCreek Herbal Ale 12oz bottle rated 8.22.09. Pours a sugary looking bright glowing orange with a thing white froth 2.5. Smells like a Sand Creek beer, biscuits and crackers, with some herbalness. Flavor follows, lightly sweet, medicinal with some bitterness. Monday, October 12, 2009

0.7 BluCreek Zen IPA 12oz bottle. Pours a murky peach color with no head, ugly. Aroma is oddly sweet, some biscuits and crackers. Flavor is salty... blech... spat it out. Monday, October 12, 2009

1.2 BluCreek AltBier 12oz bottle. Okay... here we go: Pours a murky dull charcoal rootbeer color with an off-white thin froth. Aroma of chocolate cough syrup and biscuits. Flavor is biscuits and chocolate toffee, corn syrup, burnt... blech. Monday, October 12, 2009

3.3 BluCreek Blueberry Ale 12oz bottle. Amber peach color, pretty transparent. Respectable average head. Sweet blueberry aroma. A touch of bitterness upfront leads to a solid sweet blueberry taste. The mild amber malt tones give it a touch of depth, but overall a pretty straightforward venture. Nothing to write home about and nothing to whine about, it is what it is. 1.8 BluCreek Herbal Ale Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Orange with creamy white head. Smells like biscuit malt, really chalky and minerally, a little lemony, not very good. Flavor is minerally, sweeter herbal, sulphury and septic, medicinal, weird, a little vegetal as well. Light and well carbonated. Blehhhhhh. Monday, August 24, 2009

1.8 BluCreek Zen IPA Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Orange and cloudy with creamy off white head. Aroma is sweeter grain and biscuit malt with that same sand creek house smell. Flavor is light hops and medicinal with some chalk. Light and chalky body. Bleh. Monday, August 24, 2009

1.2 BluCreek AltBier Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Brown and red with creamy off- white head. Awful alc aroma, roast and mollases and cherry as it warms. Medicinal and cherry juice flavor with some roast and weird alc, it tastes like robetusson or fake maple syrup, gross, just gross. Syrupy with slight chalk body. Bad bad bad beer, you make me feel so bad and to quote davinci "blucreek alt, meaning the ALTernative to good". Monday, August 24, 2009

2.2 BluCreek Zen IPA Hazy, orange, yellow-tan color with moderate off-white head. Aroma is earthy; grass, hopps, and some sweetness. Taste is flat and somewhat bitter; hopps, malt and some citurs, possibly some ’green tea’ flavor. Sunday, August 23, 2009

2.7 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Thin head of varying sized bubbles. Light blueberry aroma with some roasted grains and dirty diapers. Hmmm, not what I would want in an aroma. Color is a orangish brown. More blueberry flavor along with some light roasted grains and an abundance of sweetness. Sickly sweet. Finishes sweet and sticky with lingering fruityness. Not a very good brew. 2.4 BluCreek Herbal Ale Single bottle into a pint glass Aroma is water and minerals. Flavor is sweet malt with blatant herb flavors that remind you of dry tea and mild tobacco. Monday, August 3, 2009

2.8 BluCreek Herbal Ale nose seems suprisingly devoid of herbal elements. mostly lager yeast and some light toffee malt. flavor starts with a hint of toffee crunch then moves to the herbs. the flavors are foreign to me and very difficult to describe, it ends with a strong metallic note. i bought this as part of a ’make your own 6 pack’ and grabbed this one with a laugh, assuming it would be horrid. its not quite good, and im not sure how many of these i could drink consecutively but its no where near as bad as i assumed. 2.9 BluCreek Zen IPA 12oz bottle. Opaque orange-tan color, foamy off white head. The aroma is strong and certainly unique, some earthy floral hops doused in a herbal green tea. Medium body, with some earthy, flowery hop character and an odd lemon-lime tea taste on top of the toasty malt. Some English IPA qualities, but pretty much a unique concoction. Doesn’t exactly work out so well, but the bottle hardly wreaks of freshness either. OK at best. Thursday, July 30, 2009

3.8 BluCreek AltBier 12oz bottle. Dark orange-hued brown with a nice off white head. Fresh brewery aroma, some solid crystal malt coming through. Smooth, medium bodied. The low ABV really makes it incredibly easy to down, but there is still a touch of quality that stands out, making it an enjoyable beer to just sip on too. Smooth dark malt flavor, with a mild bitter earthiness. Toasty malt finish. Right on, but Id think a little more strength wouldnt have hurt. Thursday, July 30, 2009

2.4 BluCreek Zen IPA Dead aromas, faint leafy herbal nose. Tannic bitterness that doesn’t have much malt to balance it. Bleh. Tuesday, April 28, 2009

2.5 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Yuck. Ok that is a bit strong, but close. As far as I can tell, a blueberry beer just has to have some sweetness. This tastes like what carbonated, unsweetened water tastes like. I tend to like Blueberry ales and so was a bit surprised by this. Saturday, March 28, 2009

2.8 BluCreek Blueberry Ale 12 oz bottle from three cellars (franklin, wi). Part of my girlfriend’s haul of singles. Pours a dark hazed amber with moderate tannish head that dissipates to a decent amount and laces a bit. Aromas are straight blueberry muffins. Light cakey sweetness mixed with blueberries. Initial is a lot lighter in the blueberry department, subtle blueberry that sticks to the aftertaste, tannins, light grainy sweet malty sweetness. Not a lot of bitterness, but a touch of tartness on the blueberry. A display of the fruit (which is natural and not overbearing), rather than the beer. Decent. Wins points for no artificial sugary sweetness but loses them for unassertive malt and a touch of watery feel. Sunday, March 15, 2009

2.7 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Hazy, sickly copper with a light yellowish tan head. The smell reminds me of blueberry pancakes with some dandelions. The taste is like eating raw grain with just a hint of blueberry flavor. There is a toasted bread character that is kind of pleasing, but it doesn’t match well with the extra carbonation and overall super dry taste. It’s ok, but barely even a fruit beer. 2.4 BluCreek Zen IPA 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a cloudy dirty blonde color with no head. Faint lacing. Aroma is toasted malt and esters. Flavor is quite odd. It does kinda taste like tea. Weird. It’s not very bitter. Not getting much of the three C’s hops. A different beer for sure. Thanks Bill. Friday, February 27, 2009

2.1 BluCreek Zen IPA Deep amber colored body with a lightly off white head. I poured carefully, but saw some floaters that did not go anywhere. The aroma has notes of soapy lemons and grass. There is also some nasty cologne and musk. The taste was bitter with almond shells and some orange peels. The hops used in this have a lightly soapy quality. A light and relatively bland beer that still somehow offends. Friday, February 27, 2009

3.3 BluCreek AltBier From the bottle, pours a hazy dark reddish color with a thin white bubbly head. Aroma is of sour apples, and some caralmel malt. Taste is malty, some brwon sugar and molasses. It’s smooth, clean, and a bit of a sweetly bitter finish. Maybe that’s the chocolate the commercial description talks about. I think this is a pretty good beer. Thursday, February 26, 2009

2 BluCreek Zen IPA 12oz bottle courtesy of mother in law. Wow not your standard ipa aroma wheat and sweet caramel. Murky orange maybe peach body color with no head. Flavor had some malt backbone but really more like a bitter spiceed pils. Corn and whaet flavor not exactaly what I thought would ofbeen in this bottle. Sunday, February 22, 2009

3.1 BluCreek AltBier Hazy dark brown pour, medium tan head with a spotty lace. Chocolate aroma. Flavors are like malt syrup on the front, a little off-sour here, then finishing with chocolate notes. Somewhat thin, but effervescent in the mouth. Friday, January 9, 2009

3.1 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Bottle. Somewhat hazy orange yellow color, a few chunks of sediment floating around. Flavor is light malt, some wheat. Blueberry flavor is completely mild, adds just a hint of fruit. Somewhat grainy on the palate. Light bodied. Dry finish. Thursday, January 8, 2009

2.9 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Pours a hazy hay color with thin cream-colored head. Aroma is certainly of blueberries and light yeast notes. Flavor is a light grain with blueberry notes. The blueberry flavor is well done b/c it does not taste as if an extract was added but true blueberry flavor is mixed in. Body is medium with high carbonation. this is an interesting beer. I have never had a blueberry beer before. Thursday, January 8, 2009

2.7 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Dark amber pour with a large foamy beige head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is a whiff of blueberry, and after the nose becomes acclimated to that, nothing. Flavor is grainy malts, slightly oxidized on the finish, with some subdued blueberry character. Medium bodied palate with a pleasant chalky character. Wednesday, January 7, 2009

3 BluCreek Blueberry Ale Bottle courtesy of Mother in Law. Decent blueberry aroma. Golden body with white head a good carbinated bubble action in glass. Flavor was like drinking a carbinated bluebeery juice rather than beer. Somewhat metalic witha dry tart left on the palate. Saturday, December 20, 2008

2.7 BluCreek Herbal Ale Amber with a medium off white head that turns back into liquid at a slow rate. Aroma of mixed grains, herbal hops and ginseng. Taste is overpowered by the herbal hops but I guess I knew what I was getting into when I bought the beer. Semi dry herbal finish with some tea like qualities. Ok to try once but the herb/beer combo is hit or miss and this one misses. Sunday, December 14, 2008

2.3 BluCreek Zen IPA Milky cloudy graham yellow with a thin off white slowly dissipating head. Aroma of herbal hops, tea, citrus hops and sugar. Taste of herbal hops, grapefruit, lemon and tea, Astringent and acidic with a grainy finish. The tea is just wrong here… I know that’s what they were aiming for but it’s all wrong. Saturday, November 29, 2008

3.5 BluCreek AltBier Translucent burnt siena with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of caramel, molasses and brown sugar. Taste of malt, molasses, caramel and brown sugar. Thick and grainy and has somewhat of a nutty and spicy finish. Mildly astringent. Saturday, November 29, 2008
