(Stadsbrouwerij Wittenburg Straffe André) Bottle 330ml at home, bought at the local AH. Brown coloured body, small thin beige head on top with low retention. Aroma is malty, faint hints of chocolate and something sour in there. Taste has also a little bit of sourness on it, then some malts, and some chocolate or cocoa on the finish. Medium thin body, low on carbonation. Nothing special.

330 ml bottle. Which opens with the worst gusher I've seen. The few droplets left are a reddish cloudy body, no reall head as there is not enough left. Aroma: SOur infected, puke and a touch of fruits. Taste: Totally off infected, with a hint of fruits and malts. High carbonation, moderate body. Tottally undrinkable. The blotter was suggesting homebrewish and it turned out even worse. Worst beer I had in years. (So yes more bad a Dead crow or what it was called.)

28-02-2018; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are fine. The beer has a peach orange color. It is nice. The beer is very very cloudy. Extremely cloudy. There are also some flakes in the beer. Not the most delicious look. On top of the beer a minimal layer of soft foam is formed. Foam retention is minimal. Hardly a drape is left after a while. The smell of the beer is fine. It has some very nice sweet malts. It is not bad. There are some dried fruit aromas to, giving some nice sweetness. Hops give some spicy notes. Not bad. However, there are some nasty yeast aromas. They are a bit sour and barnyard like. It smells a bit of...like it is spoiled. I'm not the greatest fan of this. This little nasty aroma should go. The taste is better. It has some nice sweet malts. There is also a nice dried fruit note, giving some extra sweetness. I like the sweet fruity notes. There are some bitter hops there to. However, the sweetness of the beer is a bit spoiled by the nasty yeast notes. This gives a nasty sour barnyard note, like it is spoiled. I hate this. It shouldn't be there. I expected more of this. The palate of the beer is fine. Medium body, smooth and medium carbonation. The finish of the beer is fine. It has some sweet malts and fruits and is loaded with alcohol. This is nice. However the nasty yeast ruins the finish a bit. I am disappointed by this.

08-12-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. It has a great Belgian Strong Ale look. The color of the beer is a lovely golden amber. It is a shade darker than most Belgian Strong Ales. The beer has a nice cloudiness. On top of the beer a thick frothy rough layer of foam is formed. Foam retention is very very long. A lovely thick drape is left after a while. The smell of the beer is lovely. It is quite strong and very aromatic. I smell some nice sweet malty aromas, that forms a nice base for the hops and yeast aromas. The hops give lovely floral and herbal aromas, quite firm and full. There is also a nice spicy yeast aroma, pairing lovely with the yeast and malts. Not bad. The taste of the beer is also quite nice. Sweet malts, a touch of honey, full bitter hops, quite floral and spicy. There is quite a clear spicy yeast flavour. The beer is well balanced. The palate is nice. Full body, smooth texture and medium carbonation. The finish of the beer is nice. Nice hops, with a sweet and honey malt touch and some spicy yeasts...all present for quite some time. I like it.

Stadsbrouwerij Wittenburg De Jonkheer Dry Hopped
Bottle shared at home. Huge Brett aroma as soon as I popped the cap! Almost clear golden with good sized white head. Deep funk, horse blanket and barnyard kind but also a bit of dirty socks, sour berries, citrus, soft bready and light sweet caramel malts. Grassy and straw in the finish. Medium bitter, light sweet and sour. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Like the other reviews say, the Brett is probably not intentional but definately works and probably improved the beers. It's like a poor mans Orval or something now, but might be too funk when left untill the best before date which is more than a year away.

(Stadsbrouwerij Wittenburg De Jonkheer Dry Hopped) Bottle 330ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 6.2% Orange coloured body, clear, with a small and thin white head on top, low retention. aroma has malts, light manure, a hint of sourness, not really a dty-hopped character, spices. Taste is slightly better, again malts, light orange notes, spices, nicely bitter finish and a light sourness underneath. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Not bad after all, I think it benefited from the light infection.

33cl Bottle from Douberd, thanks Christos! Called De Stoomgenerator. Hazy amber orange colour, off white head. Aroma of Brett, salty cheese, sweet malts, light floral. Flavour is Bretty, floral, fruity, caramel, bittersweet finish. Light bodied. Another infected beer from these guys, they’re aiming to be the new Koelschip? On the other hand, the infection made the beer here. And it’s not a brown ale either.
