Lean, soft, flat taste, creamy, buttery oak and odd herbal bitterish touch, dry grainy notes, woody touches, not that smokey. Sweetish but ending quickly and dry. Lingering bitterness in the finish. huineman	3.6 Master Tmavý 18° On tap at Prime, lounge bar at the Imperial Hotel, Prague. They only serve one size, I was like "I'll have a medium" and the barman was like "We only have one size" so I said "Then I'll have that size." For whatever reason, the patron next to me laughed whole-heartedly. Anyway, back to the beer. A shiny jet black pour with a finely lacing, medium-lasting, grayish head. Aroma is blackberry, cola jelly, licorice, brown sugar. Slightly sweet onset. Stout, full-bodied, yet far from bitter. Nutritious and easy to drink, but nothing to set the world on fire. Martinsh	3.7 Pilsner Urquell On tap at Tap and Can, Shrewsbury – but I have had this many a time before (usually in bottles though). Pours a slightly greenish yellow with a small almost white head and good lacing. There’s continental hops and grains in the aroma. I the mouth it fluctuates between slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Continental hops again with hints of malts and spices leafing to a dry and bitter finish. Goldbarren	2 Proud Ležák Bei einem Ausflug nach Tschechien an einem Gründonnerstag um das namensgebende grüne Bier 💚 zu trinken, fand ich zwar keinen Platz in den Craftbier-Bars, dafür dieses neue Getränk im Supermarkt. Durch die klare Flasche dachte ich zuerst an eine leichte Corona-Kopie, aber dem ist nicht so. Es hat zwar einen intensiven Maisgeschmack 🌽, aber dazu kommt win komisch chemischer, süßer Limonaden bzw. Energydrink-Geschmack🦸‍♀️. Nicht so stark wie en Radler, aber doch deutlich und absolut nicht passend. Nicht mal als leichtes Strandbier wirklich gut. Thursday, March 28, 2024

medkung	3.5 Pilsner Urquell Can version BBF 29 June 2024 Got this one from my friend and yes it’s very excited about this one. This one is clean body, very nice balance, medium to full mouthfeel, smooth body from pure water, low and feel natural sweet nothing harsh or something weird. Tasting lead from malty tastes such as bread, some of caramel, some of biscuits and straightforward to hops such as bitter, herbal, grassy and it’s not dry finished. Very nice one same old fashion but not boring and this one is benchmark for Czech Pilsner. Sunday, March 24, 2024

Marko	2.6 Proud Ležák So... Prazdroj/Urquell opened their micro, Proud ("Current" in Czech, making sense both with the rivers near the plant and the fact that it was in Prazdroj's former power station) in, I'd say... 2019. Not to waste the reader's time, in late 2023/early 2024, Asahi decided to pull the "Proud" brand from the microbrewery, and move it to a new clear bottle "modern" (in corpobrewer's eyes) lager, light, not bitter, not Czech in any way other than maybe some ingredients and that it's brewed in Plzeň. A lager with "natural aromas" and isohops not to get skunky. And here it is. 0.33l bottle from Albert Butovice. Crystal clear golden "I was colored by something" appearance, the thick head, okay in size, but gone soon . The aroma starts with some fake fruity notes (is it stone fruit? is it orange?) on caramel. Fake fruitiness on a clean body with caramelly touches, no hops pretty much, herbal traces at best, and not bitter at all. It's not unpleasant, it's just that it's a bit fake, and the way it was made was such a wild corpo move it's insane. Doesn't call for another, the dryness in the finish is mildly astringent and uninteresting. Friday, March 15, 2024
