3.2 Clanconnel #3 McGrath's Irish Pale 500ml Bottle from Asda, Enniskillen (£1.50): Quite a hazy, medium amber with a thin frothy surface lacing that's patchy as well. The nose is subdued but slightly hoppy with a biscuit malt base & floral touches. The taste is more malty with lots of biscuit, very faint hops & citrus with a clean, crisp body that was smooth & dry at the end. It's pleasant but it could have been a bit stronger. 2.8 Clanconnel #5 McGraths Irish Amber Bottle from B&M, Rochdale. Dark amber with a mild haze and a bubbly-frothy head. At its most malty in its nose, there's a little more to its taste with light caramels and a hint of dark fruit. Tuesday, July 10, 2018

2.9 Clanconnel #4 McGrath's Irish Red Ale Bottle from B&M, Rochdale. Amber-brown with a head, but more of the latter colour. Mildly gritty in design, it has a palatable maltiness, tastes something like a brown ale with a sweetness. Wednesday, June 27, 2018

2.9 Clanconnel #2 McGrath's Irish Blonde Bottle from B&M, Rochdale. Golden-blonde with a thick frothy head, caused by a lot of activity out of the bottle. It's a very sweet-hoppy tasting ale with a big citrus influence. Friday, June 22, 2018

2.6 Clanconnel #1 McGrath's Irish Lager Bottle from B&M Bargains, Rochdale. Golden with a thin head. Has a light lager character in aroma and less so in taste, but not exactly a lager in texture though as it's a little smoother and ale-like. Thursday, April 26, 2018

2.9 Clanconnel #3 McGrath's Irish Pale Bottle. Misted gold with a low white head. Discreet honey and grass sap aroma. Moderate condition, sap and shrub hop, honey and rusk. Pleasant to drink, if dull. More of a lager than the lager. Monday, March 19, 2018

3.3 Clanconnel #4 McGrath's Irish Red Ale Bottle. Cherry red slicked generously with beige. Sour red berry fruit nose with clove like spice. Jammy red fruit with cranberry and redcurrant aspects over a faintly husky roasted nut and wholemeal biscuit base. Slightly ashy. Reminds me of KJ's 'Leftovers' homebrew which is in no way a criticism. Monday, March 19, 2018

3.6 Clanconnel #6 McGrath's Irish Black Stout 330ml bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen (£1.80): This one was a very nice stout from Clanconnel, definitely much better than either of the two beers that I had from the brewery previously & one that I'll likely find myself drinking again at some point in the near future. The beer p[opened with some great roasted flavours along with subtle touches of sugar & chocolate to add a little sweetness; there was some pleasant coffee flavours too which helped impact just a touch of bitterness. It was relatively complex, especially when compared to previous offerings from the brewery & it went down very easily as well; great stuff. Friday, September 15, 2017

3 Clanconnel #2 McGrath's Irish Blonde 330ml bottle from Home Bargains shop as a gift: An interesting one from McGrath’s here & a beer that opened quite fresh & lively with a nice combination of citrus & lemon flavours alongside some tart & funk that seemed slightly stronger with the nose than it was in the taste, although it was still noticeable with both. There was some pale malts & biscuit in there too, not to mention hints of sweetness down the stretch but I couldn’t help but find it a fairly one-dimensional & average offering from the brewery which I probably wouldn’t have again; it wasn’t a bad beer by any stretch though, it’s just there are plenty of better ones out there.
