luttonm	2.9 Der Blokken Blueberry Pale Ale WABL Brewer’s Festival, 2017. Small soapy ring. dark malty brown body with a small red hue. Malty with an edge of fruit on nose. Slightly under attenuated and sweet body. Fruit and blueberry is very distant. I wouldn’t have pulled blueberry. Not great. Sunday, August 13, 2017
Capa	3.3 Der Blokken Russian Overcoat Stout Deep brown with a tan head. Roasted malt and booze lead the way. Some coffee. Thin bodied. Hot booze on the tongue. Bitter malt finish. Solid but hot. Saturday, July 1, 2017

mcberko	2.9 Der Blokken Mexican Chocolate Stout On tap at WA Winter Beer Festival 2015, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a good mix of spices and cocoa. Flavour is quite spicy, with intense spicy peppers, followed by cocoa and some burning. Spice-dominated but it works reasonably well. Decent. Sunday, December 6, 2015

mcberko	2 Der Blokken Smoked Chocolate Rye On cask at Washington Brewers Cask Festival, pours a red tinged dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is perfumey, with paint thinner, smoke and sweet malt. Flavour is quite nasty, with smoke, paint thinner and some sweet malt. A total train wreck - not sure what they were trying to do here. maxwelldeux	3.6 Der Blokken Sacred Hop DIPA Draught at WA Brewers Festival, 2014. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a very small head on it. Nose is hop forward, as expected, with some resin and grassy notes to it. Taste is very bitter, and a bit earthy. Solid beer, and I did enjoy it. Friday, June 20, 2014

5000	3.6 Der Blokken Sacred Hop DIPA Bottle: Really piney, hoppy, with a somewhat sweet malty background. A little pithy, some actual peel. Hops seem pretty fresh, bright. Enjoyable, could use a little more body to balance the big hoppiness. Can’t tell its 8%. Pretty good example, a little bruising but big hoppiness. 5000	2.7 Der Blokken Black Bottle: Uh oh, super foamy head, and on the back end of the pour. Oh man, overcarbonated, underlying notes of charred wood, campfire, roasted malts, a touch of sweet soy, but also coming across as tart. Seems to have turned in the bottle. Its only 4 months old, but its enough time for it to take $hit in the bottle. Stored in the fridge most of the time... didn’t make a difference. Monday, April 28, 2014
5000	3.3 Der Blokken Ginga Bottle: Soft maltiness, a little bready, smidgen of earthy and soily bits, moderate sweetness. Could stand to have a touch more body, but its still somewhat smooth. Clean finish. Light example, but still flavorful. Not bad... Monday, April 28, 2014
maxwelldeux	2.7 Der Blokken Black Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a rather thick tan head on it. Nose is roasty and bitter, with just a little bit of sourness to it. Taste is remarkably light for a stout, and a tad sour. Tastes just a little off from most stouts... Friday, February 28, 2014
crackedmachine	3.6 Der Blokken Sacred Hop DIPA Lightly cloudy copper with a thin beige head. Aroma is candy-like caramel malt and resinous, piney hops. BillKismet	3.3 Der Blokken Ginga Rich, red-tinged amber body with a decent enough beige head. Appreciable toasty malt aroma, full of cereal grains. Likewise the body is of strongly toasted amber and rich with freshly milled grains. Tannic grain undercurrent and finish that is a bit rough and could smooth out with age. Friday, January 10, 2014
jweiss	3.7 Der Blokken Sacred Hop DIPA Starts with a nose of citrus followed by a caramel sweetness. Has a fairly thick head for a DIPA. Medium carbonation in a light copper color. Nice chewy body with a pleasant bitter bite that lasts just right. Very impressed, few local breweries have successfully pulled of DIPA’s. Monday, January 6, 2014

Hanuta06	3.6 Der Blokken Black Serving: from tap at Hare & Hounds Public House. Aroma: light malt aroma. Appearance: very small, light-brown, initial head that instantly disappeared. No lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Dark-brown/black body. Taste: lightly sweet, cherry-like initial flavor and lightly roasty/burned finish with short duration. Palate: medium bodied with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent beer. Interesting taste. I’d gladly drink this again. Thursday, July 11, 2013

MarinaMarket	3.3 Der Blokken Ginga Sharp Hop aroma from the neck. Pours a bit cloudy dark amber. Actually less red than the Der Blokken Black. Thin off-white head, but it stays around for quite a while. 3 Minutes and there’s still a thin head on it. Not getting much aroma to speak of. Some sour fruit, grassy hops. Well carbonated with a nice malt forward flavor. Now I am getting pine notes in the aroma. Decent hop balance. This really is a pretty good red, although I don’t drink many of those. I like the mouthfeel too. It’s really got some body. Nice legs on the glass, and the head is still there! Tasted from the bottle @ 58F. Tuesday, March 6, 2012

MarinaMarket	3.9 Der Blokken Black Aroma from the neck is malty, roasted, and carmelized sugar. Pours very dark red with a frothy tan head. The head itself has a hoppy aroma and takes a while to flatten down. Nice legs! Lightly carbonated with a medium to thick body, and nutty malt flavor. Malt forward with a muted but tasty bitter hop on the finish. This is a well balanced sweet stout with just enough hop flavor to make it an interesting and easy to drink stout. Even a bit creamy and slightly sticky with a hint of coffee, chocolate, and biscuit. Tasted from the bottle @ 54F. Monday, February 6, 2012
