Beese	2.7 Small Paul's Challenger II Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear copper colour with a thin, scummy white head. Aroma of strawberries, malts with a slight plasticy note. Malty flavours dominate with with some grassy hop and a little metallic edge. Finish was pine needles and burnt toast, culminating in a rather astringent bitterness. Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Aroma of cereal malts with a touch of hedgerow fruit. Easy drinking, with more solid malts, a hint of sweetness and decent bitter finish. Fine. Sunday, January 13, 2013

There is a chunky maltiness initially, good and richly roasted with a pleasant baked bread note, this is followed by a leafy, drying, earthy hop note. Well balanced and quite enjoyable.
