3.4 Zwergenbräu Holzwurm Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Bov. It pours a hazy light amber with a huge off white head. The nose is reminiscent of yeast, almonds, a lot of hazelnuts, malt, hints of papaya and quite a lot of grass which has been laying in the sun. Yeast accented. Salty licorice sneaking in. Medium bodied. Strong carbonation. Fruity. Low bitterness. Not much lacework. A lot of licorice and faint fennel on the swallow. Residual sugars in the finish which is reminiscent of salmiak, fennel, grass which has been laying in the sun and hazelnuts. Pleasant, very drinkable despite the strong carbonation.
