3.4 Heldrastein Honigwein Met Lieblich Bottled. A pale golden beer mead. The aroma has notes of honey, flowers, and herbs. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey, alcohol, and flowers, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol burns the tongue. Thanks fiulijn for supplying this. Sunday, July 24, 2011

3.2 Heldrastein Honigwein Met Lieblich Corked bottle from the imkerei; batch L6146 Deep blond color. Deep honey aroma, alcoholic, lightly phenolic, soapy. It’s a semi-sweet Mead, but not syrupy; honey flavor (nothing special so far); the final gets just a bit drier, with a light bitterness to contrast sweetness, instead of some acid, and this is the first thing to avoid in Meads. Average. Wednesday, June 8, 2011
