Woorisool Makgeolli Treasure of Korea - Chestnut
Bottle. Milky pale yellow. Chalky rice aroma with some earthy/ mealy notes which are presumably the chestnut. Almost but not quite flat. Smooth and milky with a nice tangy, mildly sour aspect to the finish.

Woorisool Tangy Rice Makgeolli
1000ml PET bottle bought at K-Mart Korean Food in Sham Shui Po. Cloudy hazy, coconut milky very pale off-white colour mixed with lots of fine rice particles; No head, foam nor lacing with quite fizzy carbonation; Aroma of glutinous rice wine, with medium tartness, alcohol, coconut milk and sugar; Mid to strong sweet taste of rice wine, with notable lacto tartness, soda, carbo, strong alcohol, liquorices, skimmed milk and sugar; Mid to light body. Thin and slick palate; Mouth feel is rice wine in a runny background. Very rice-starchy with notable lacto tartness and a lot more boozier and sweeter than most Makgeollis. Otherwise not much character other than skimmed milk. Liquorices finish. Okay... Wet after taste; Boozy light Milky and easy to mouth. Comments: Compare to other Makgeollis, this one has more tartness, booze and sweetness and with slight ricey coarseness to the tongue. Quite an easy one for the masses, but also a bit too monotone and lack dimensions. Still drinkable.

Woorisool Makgeolli Treasure of Korea - Chestnut
330ml can from the Lucky Supermarket, Siem Reap, Cambodia. Poured a milky light yellow colour with no life. The aroma is big hazelnut, creamy coconut milk. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, creamy, aromatic, warm alcohol palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation.
