After 5 hours at a public pool for a birthday party I am needing a good adult beverage. Preferably strong but I will take anything at this point. A solid IPA for a 100 degree day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty pour, more earthy hop nose mixes with caramel. A firmer but not overwhelming earthy, grass, gently spiced hop appeal but still enough biscuit and carmelized appeal to stay in style.

Straw goldenrod glow with gentke haze, lively bubbles and frothy whitish head. Full crown dies to firm film. Aromas grainy, cereal,,a bit spicy. Initial still shows bitterness, soice, grainy malts. A distinct tangy fruit middle and backend, crisoer, ckean, bitter. Tangy and citric, a bit of paw paw, subtle unripe strawberry seedy sppeal. More restrained fruit addition.

Goose Island All Purpose IPA
My first beer of the night at a recent wedding. I don’t know much about craft beer. After a good tasting, the first thought that came to mind is "this tastes like someone added a lot of hops to some macro-beer that I remember from my younger years". Then I looked up Goose Island and discovered that it was purchased by AB a number of years ago. Yup, it’s one of the AB beers + More Hops. A fairly mediocre IPA.

Batch 1 bottle thanks to Russell. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong chocolate, roast, bourbon, wood, vanilla. Thick body, chewy, strong vanilla, roast, milk chocolate, nice bourbon, really enjoyed this.

A sweet yeasty smell matches the taste. Golden color and hazy. A decent enough saison that is sweeter than normal but you would never guess honey was added. A little disappointing. Tap.

Goose Island Big Train
Draft sample at FoBAB. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, spicy rye, a mild nutty character, bourbon, vanilla and wood, good but in this year of big over the top beers didn’t stand out.

Goose Island CBC India Pale Ale
Exp. date 03/01/16. Pours clear amber with a thick and stable white head. Malty nose. Fruity as well, some hops... Bit citric. Fairly well. Tastewise moderately bitter. Resiny hops, but also a slight yeasty kick. Aftertaste is dry and pretty refreshing. Furthermore a bit bland, but quite refreshing on a hot day. Bit thinnish in texture, moderately carbonated. Decent quencher, nothing special.

I drank this beer in Beijing, relax. It is a classical IPA. The body is copper, white and thin foam, normal carbonation. The taste is bitter, nice citrus hop, litte sweet but the final note at the tongue and in the throat is bitter, malty, well balanced and easy to drink, good.

Tasting sample at goose island Cybourn. Very weak interpretation of a cream ale. Flower aroma maybe dandelions. Appearance is clear golden color. Taste has a weak cream taste to it. Palate is light body, thin feel. Hickster from scorched earth or New Glarus spotted cow are perfect examples of cream ales. Not Lilly.

Bottle... Pours murky and dark brown with a tiny, brief, mushroom-colored head. The aroma is very subtle, but features milk chocolate and tree nuts. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The bittersweet flavor features deeply roasted malts, vanilla and espresso. Many of the guys I shared this with said it was overly sweet, but I disagree. Delicious, carbonic, charcoal and dark chocolate finish. Bottle courtesy of newcigars!
