b3shine	4 Goose Island / More Tusk & Feather Draft to taster. Pours a semi-transparent dark copperish brown with fizzy caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes sweet and malty with notes of Maris Otter malt alongside some oak and some barreled alcohol notes I can't discern (white wine and/or cognac?). DrnkMcDermott	3.1 Goose Island No Plans Tasty Time Pale Ale Can from Trader Joe's. Nice standard American Pale Ale nose under the can top.The pour is hazy gold, with tiny "floaties" in suspension, like with a lot of Bell's I remember. Big puff of foam. Taste… well it's a standard pale ale. Hops are not that prominent, and the overall mouthfeel is kind of thin. Okay, it's supposed to be an "easy" pale ale, and at least it's not tasting like a pale lager, but Goose can do much better. Sunday, March 31, 2024

ClarkVV	3.7 Goose Island The Adan Special Draught pour at Clybourn served by....Adan! 12/1/23. A bit hazy, drab caramel-amber. Off-white head to ring immediately. Rum raisin, pepper, cherry, mellow alcohol ester. Oxidized notes of sherry with paper and vegetal character though not in a bad way. Don't get the cherry or orange. Orange peel zestiness with honey and toffee like maltiness drying out heavily with earth and sherry. I actually think the orange peel mimics oxidation or sherry...so there's not really any of that. Soft, sweet, rich, earthy, peppery. Bit muddled with intermittent alcohol. Wouldnt mind significantly more bourbon, though I think these were older generation barrels and it was left too long in them. Friday, December 1, 2023

Apple, earth, crusty bread and spicy herbs. Nice adjunct like character, not overhopped, clean, no booze. Clean, gently hoppy, lots of interesting adjunct grain with apple, black and white pepper and sourdough. No booze. Good malt liquor-like adjunct notes while being clean and not overhopped. Bright floral and gently herbal hops with lingering fresh cut grass and a bit of dainty honey and fresh baguette. Very clean. Bit of pleasant mineral and sweat on the end. Zesty herbal hops with fresh cut grass and a touch of dill. Good balance of bitterness and very malty for its size with good attenuation. Clean without too much lemony character, which is a plus for me (get tired of citrusy character). Malt has rustic, fresh baked bread and light honey notes. Friday, December 1, 2023

Brigadier	3.6 Goose Island Hazy Sundae 12 ounce can Revisiting Goose Island for the first time in a long while reminded me that even though they are old school they have not lost their touch. This distinctive IPA might not be the most powerful New England style version around Chicago but given the price and accessibility deserves some respect for being friendly on the wallet. AROMA / APPEARANCE Lemon custard, vanilla, and yeast soften the air with a background of floral hops. It feels more muted than a typical hazy IPA but the calm golden core still retains some depth. FLAVOR / PALATE Lemon peels, yeast, and spicy white pepper wake up the tongue. The cool transition eases into the bitter finish of citrus and Orangina. This distinctive finish makes it stand out from the crowd as something that I might consider buying again if there weren't hundreds of other options as well. Even so if you want something to bring to a friend's house who "is not into beer" then this does nicely. Tuesday, March 7, 2023
