3.6 Mad Jack Lawrence Strong Ale Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Aroma is just a huge fruit profile, a cornucopia of fruit. Buckets of fruit. Huge fruit characters, Tropical fruit, Cantaloupes, oranges and for sure the raspberry is here. The hops help to balance the sweetness. Marries well with the Citra hops. Some of the lady’s sampling this brew around me at BCTC had there panties in a wad for this brew. It does taste good! Wednesday, August 12, 2015

3.2 Mad Jack State Street Saison Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Hazy gold color, some weak head and retention. Aroma is pepper, white bread and weak yeast. Nothing surprising in the flavor. Yeast character is tame with a lighter body that has a crisp note. Pepper lingers in the finish slightly. Hop profile is subtle. Not complex at all however, no flaws, simple. Wednesday, August 12, 2015

2.5 Mad Jack Golden Faro As the second person rating this beer...this is not a Faro. And who the he’ll thought it would be a good idea to serve it with an orange slice? That being said... it is a drinkable slightly tart wheat with tons of lemon. Friday, May 2, 2014

3 Mad Jack Golden Faro Lemon peel wheat beer is what I get from this with a slight dishwasher soap bitter finish. Adjust your expectations and this is ok, but it is not a good lambic and not really tart. Refreshing and drinkable as a wheat beer or almost a wheat beer shandy cross, but not as a lambic. WEBSITE DESCRIPTION "Derived from the Lambic brew styles, this light Belgian brew starts tart, but finishes with sweet and smooth flavors. The citrus notes and easy drinkability have us thinking about warm weather! " ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Saturday, March 15, 2014

2.8 Mad Jack Tub's Stout In short: A messy amateurish stout that remains somewhat drinkable. Meh How: Tap at brewpub The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head In long: Nose is light roast, some burnt paper, ink, light fruitiness. Taste has a velvety texture, flavors of burnt oat, harsh roast, old cup of strong black bitter coffee, old dirty rug, ink, soy sauce. Somehow not as bad as my list of flavor elements make it to be, it wasn’t without problems for sure, it actually felt very amateurish, very unpolished, but not bad. Slightly problematic, yet drinkable. This one needs a bit of work, the brewer could use a little coaching on how to brew a good stout, and also myself and everybody reading this could use a little coaching on how to be productive.. 3.7 Mad Jack Fightin' Irwin IPA In short: A sharp and tasty coniferous IPA. Very good How: Tap at brewpub The look: Clear golden body topped by a persistent small off-white head leaving good lacings on the glass In long: Nose is intensely coniferous. Taste starts with a discreet malt backbone that Id describe as bready/crackery malts, dried white bread and some dried caramel. But then the hops take over. But that’s not important. Everything in this beer are just playing second violin to the hops. Assertive coniferous bitterness that reminded me of spruce beers we have in quebec. Lots of green pine needles Mild citric acidity and some astringency. A tasty and shap beer but also a refreshing beer. My first visit at this brewpub, a bit hard to find, in an area I’ve never been to, plus the name of the place (The Van Dyck) is not the name of the brewpub, but I found it by myself anyway, I didn’t stop to ask for directions when I was a sperm and I am not about to start now.
