Fine bubbles. Flavour: Medium maltiness, bready, toffee, peaches. Medium-light bitterness. Semi-dry finish with toffee, peach. Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation, creamy. Light warming. Overall: Initial aroma was quite alcoholic, but that dissipated, leaving a more balanced experience. Unfortunately not as rich/malty as expected. Bottle, poured. 17D. T: Plenty of caramel and oak grip. Malt sweetness and red berries. Toffee and caramel. Dark chocolate. P: Full O: The flavours are a little all over the show. Overall: Good berry notes. not finding the "barrel", but otherwise a really pleasant beer. If it had woody notes I would score it a lot higher. This is a great beer. 440 ml bottle,poured. 33A. Overall: The beer shows alcohol notes, from the brandy. The rest of the beer is good, but does not provide a rich, complex maltiness, nor does it have the body. Bottle, poured. 33B. scrooloose	2.4 Fraser's Folly Pilsner 440ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy straw coloured. Thin white head, no lacing. Aromas of green apple, bread, grass. Tastes of sweet breads, and sadly some diacetyl (butterscotch). Sherbert mouthfeel, dry finish. The first time I had this, it was still called Soutie and I had it on tap in the town of origin. This is a very different beer, both for better and for worse, There's too much out of style with this beer, although it will likely find favour with many drinkers. Sunday, May 27, 2018

theSlipperyPen	2.5 Fraser's Folly Dark Continent Moer Koffie Condensed Milk Stout A murky brown beer with a two tone cream and tan head. Old cold coffee on the nose with a definite lactic sweetness underneath. There's also a bit of old pub carpet and ash. The mouth doesn't match the nose. There's a sweetness from the lactic sugars that does somewhat balance the sharp bitter coffee but it's a rather onestroke flavour profile. A bit of liquorice develops, along with a touch of plum, as the beer warms. It finishes on that four day old coffee and rusted kettle taste. Hmmm. Friday, December 15, 2017
theSlipperyPen	3.2 Fraser's Folly IPA Beautiful copper amber beer with a fine lasting head. A wallop of gingersnaps, pine, toffee and mango on the nose. It's a very big aroma. In the mouth it's dry with an intense English bitter flavour - reminds me of ESB or Benghal Lancer. The nose doesn't match the flavour but its pretty tasty stuff. Finishes on marmalade and dry grass. Good beer but not characteristic of the style. Think more about England and Cheswick rather than West Coast America. Friday, December 15, 2017

Aroma: string coffe burnt aroma, toasty, ashy. Taste: burnt coffee, ash, overly sweet. Palate: medium mouthfeel, low to medium carbonation. Aromas of espresso coffee, toffee and milk chocolate with a slight hazelnut note. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Medium body, fizzy, slightly astringent. Light bitterness, Finish lightly sweet with a lingering chocolate and a hint of roastiness. Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation, smooth. Overall: The flavour and aroma is very similar to a 50/50 mix of coffee and "hot chocolate". Very nice, soft and smooth. Good balance. Dry finish with lingering earthy, woody, peaches. Mouthfeel: Medium body, Medium carbonation. Overall: I am assuming Fuggles as the hops. Aroma is where things start to get interesting: Strong coffee and condensed milk. Flavour matches the aroma, it’s almost like iced coffee with a hint of beer. High sweetness, little bitterness. Highly unusual, but I like it. It’s never going to be a regular, but like a sneaky sip of condensed milk from the tin, it’s a treat. Sunday, April 16, 2017
