2.8 3 Guys & A Beer'd Wheat the People Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a sly yellow burnt color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace to fill a fizzy to foamy white head. Not much lace. The aroma had some sweet wheat, grassiness, earthiness and a little bit of some lemon scent/perfume-like quality. The flavor cued up the earthiness and the grassiness to pull down the lemon scent a little bit. Still, was mainly sweet all around with a decent aftertaste of the sweet wheat and ending up leaving a slightly sticky sweet sort of finish. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, definitely an American styled pale wheat ale, as it’s nowhere close to a German Hefeweizen. Mostly not a bad beer, but the lemon scent/perfume quality wasn’t all that great. 3.6 3 Guys & A Beer'd Ladder Dive Rye IPA Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was an amber color with a sly transparency about it. Finger’s worth of white foamy head sat atop of the beer and died off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some floral to sweet and bitter, spicy to woody and a light grassiness. Subtle herbal and a little bit of earthy qualities amplify the rest of the nose. The flavor leaned towards the spiciness slightly through the floral and earthy sweet to bitter components. There’s the rye! Good, I was waiting for that! Which moves into the aftertaste as I hoped it would showing off a little bit of spice to sweet. The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Adequate harshness along my tongue. Overall, seemed like the aroma only used hops to emulate rye and actually not have it in it. However, the flavor saved this beer as I did get that then. Thursday, May 18, 2017

3.7 3 Guys & A Beer'd Augustus Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sly roaming lace. The aroma had some milk and dark chocolate, mild roast, some coffee beans, some woodiness, chestnuts, toast and dark bread. The flavor mildly blended the roast to the sweet pretty nice. Lingering aftertaste of the blend. Finished somewhat dry and roasty with the sweetness balancing fairly nice. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, probably 3 Guys’ best beer. I’d have this one again. Tuesday, May 16, 2017

3.5 3 Guys & A Beer'd Malarky Reviewed from notes. Bottle to mug, the appearance was a slightly dark amber color with a film of a little white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sly stringy lace. The aroma had some roasted nuts, sly caramel/toffee base, some herbal qualities, slight grassy/earthy hops and a mild clean butterscotch at the end. The flavor was mildly sweet through the blend of the prior mentioned aromas. Aftertaste was clean yet subtle through the herbal qualities, hops and malts. Not much of a finish, slightly earthy, somewhat. The feel was just a tad under medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty good Irish red ale. Tuesday, May 16, 2017

2.8 3 Guys & A Beer'd Loyalty Barber Shop Shaving Cream Ale On tap at the source. It pours a clear orange color with a small white head. The aroma has some melon, berries, veggies and caramel. The flavor has sweet berries, melon and light caramel. Nice floral hops and low to medium bitterness. There’s a weird sweetness going on with some hints of squash-like vegetals. Not terrible, but flawed. Thursday, November 17, 2016

2.4 3 Guys & A Beer'd Endless Summer Beer On tap at the source. It pours orange with an off white head. The aroma has some cooked veggies and apple cider. The flavor has grain husks, hay, apples and some light herbal hops. Watery on the palate. Weird, and not in a good way. Thursday, November 17, 2016

3.1 3 Guys & A Beer'd Campfire Porter On tap at the source. It pours black with a creamy, khaki colored head. The aroma is very chocolaty. The flavor is thin with a little cocoa and heavy roasted malt. A little acidity. Standard stuff. A little too burnt, but not terrible. Thursday, November 17, 2016

3 3 Guys & A Beer'd Belgium Strong On tap at the source. Yes, this was labeled Belgium Strong and not Belgian Strong. It pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has strong baked apple. A little cinnamon spice. The flavor is the same. Tons of sweet baked apple and cinnamon. Hints of lime and some light vegetal squash notes. It’s a little oily on the palate and the alcohol is well hidden. Low carbonation for the style. Just ok. Friday, November 11, 2016

2.7 3 Guys & A Beer'd Chocolate Raspberry Saison On tap at the source. It pours a copper orange color with an off white head. The aroma is as advertised with some cocoa and raspberry. Light hints of toasted malt. The raspberry seems a little artificial. The flavor has light cocoa and sweet notes of cherry and raspberry. Some caramel and light notes of pepper in the finish. Light bodied and fizzy. The Saison character is practically non-existent. Not very well executed. Friday, November 11, 2016

2 3 Guys & A Beer'd Iron Hart On tap at the source. This is a weird one since these guys will be changing the name of the brewery to Iron Hart soon, so I’m not sure if this will be the flagship IPA once the name change is complete or not... for now it’s brewed under the 3 guys label. It pours a hazy orange color with an off white head. The aroma is hard to pick up. Maybe some grapefruit and cooked veggies. The flavor is odd with orange/menthol cleaning fluid and hints of veggies. Strong medicinal bitterness. Not a lot of malt, but too many unpleasant off flavors to enjoy the hop character. Not good. Friday, November 11, 2016

2.8 3 Guys & A Beer'd Chewhoppa IPA On tap at the source. It pours a dark orange color with a large, creamy eggshell colored head. The aroma has caramel and toffee with strong herbal hops and hints of pine. The flavor has huge herbal hops, sweet caramel and toffee. Lots of tea leaf and spicy bitterness. Pretty hot for a 6% beer and the bitterness is a bit on the strong side. Too much caramel as well. Meh. Friday, November 11, 2016

3.2 3 Guys & A Beer'd Soul Patch Bottle:   Light in color.   Has a sweet caramel and apple cider nose.   Soft cinnamon and nutmeg.   Kinda reminds me of candied apples.   Just a bit more caramel and then we would have it.   Comes across on teh tongue as a bit more candied apple.   Lots of allspice.   Nearing the thin side tho, otherwise moderate body and mouthfeel.   Could stand to be chewier.   Spicy finish, with what seems like mulled spiced apple cider.   Another interesting and different example from the norm. 2.9 3 Guys & A Beer'd Loyalty Barber Shop Shaving Cream Ale Not a bad cream ale. Straw-colored body with a decently-sized head. The head laced a bit down the side of the glass. 1.9 Cooper's Seafood House Low Tide Oyster Stout has this on tap at Cooper’s. was warned by the bartender that it was ’briny’ and ’salty’. Yep, he was right. This beer is aptly named, it tastes exactly how I would imagine low tide would taste. It looked good, smelled awful and tasted worse. Monday, March 17, 2014
