2.8 Hearsall Session Ale Handpulled at the brewpub, 24/03/13. Orange gold draped with lace. Aroma of dank English woods; wet bark, pine. Stewed bitter wood and celery notes; custard cream hints; bit of a chlorine taint. Astringent, shampoo-like finish. Creamy afters; some dry northern bite. Mixed impressions. 2.9 Hearsall Christmas Pudding Beer 4th December 2012 Pigs Ear. Light haze on this amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate. Lots of lactose in the malt. Spices are rounded off and not aggressive. Overall the beer is slightly sour. A little weird but inoffensive. Sunday, December 16, 2012 | |
